yeah, he was nowhere near the ball.

The ball was in the air coming towards him, the defender didn't make any attempt to locate the ball and instead straight up just tackled him. The defender had time to tackle him and stand up before the ball was intercepted it was absolutely PI.

By that logic its not pass interference unless the defender inteferes when the ball is already in the receivers catch radius.
