The album that defined my high school years. Listen to the whole thing periodically and there are a good 5-6 songs that get played more often. One of the best from the 90's for sure.

I will admit that the one hand in my pocket and ironic songs were catchy but Rage Against the Machine, the Doors, and the Dead defined my high school years. :passestotheleft:

I think it's the best record by a female artist of all time.
I nominate Carole King's Tapestry for this category.
Jagged Little Pill is like a Nineties version of Carole King's Tapestry: a woman using her plain soft-rock voice to sift through the emotional wreckage of her youth, with enough heart and songcraft to make countless listeners feel the earth move.Read more: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/100-best-albums-of-the-nineties-20110427/alanis-morissette-jagged-little-pill-20110517#ixzz3d8SOQTks

I like it a little bit. I remember being in a dart league around that time and in nearly every bar "You Oughta Know" came on the jukebox and boy did the ladies love singing along with that one!

Shortly after getting my introductory offer of 10 CDs for a penny from Columbia House, I was surprised by an unexpected shipment of the "Album of the Month" at a cost of around $22. That CD turned out to be Jagged Little Pill. I was pretty annoyed at the time and quickly figured out how to cancel the automatic monthly shipments from Columbia House. But, I have to admit, that album got a lot of spins from me back in 6th grade, perhaps because it was one of only about 12 CDs that I owned at the time. Looking back, I guess I was pretty lucky to stumble upon a classic album like Jagged Little Pill. I suppose I could have ended up with an album from Celine Dion or Paula Abdul.

Great album and very good album are the two leaders. Do you guys still listen to this album?

The love this album gets here is puzzling.
Very good album. Didn't do much for me when it was new but didn't mind the radio tunes. Former IT guy in my office had an insanely large music collection on a shared server (his relative worked in the music biz - talking TBs worth of music) and JLP was on it. It grew on me and is in semi-regular rotation on my Google Play.
