Nope, the guy he's playing against this weekend is. And they're both behind Donnie McNabb when he's healthy. And Duante Culpepper still gets at least one more season with the benefit of the doubt.

He's not the best, but he's extremely under-rated. If the Panthers win Delhomme is going to have to start being mentioned among the great QBs in the game today. Two trips to the Super Bowl in three years would be pretty damn impressive.

He's top 3 in my book.Edit: I think he's underrated because he can be inconsistent. Almost in a Brett Favre kind of way. Sometimes it just seems like he goes out there and starts winging the ball every which way without a care in the world.

with a decent 2nd WR he could be, but he's had his share of poor games this year.Hasselback, McNabb, and possibly a healthy Bulger are ahead of him IMO. Favre with all his weapons would be too.

Just based on the 2005 season, I think Hasselbeck is head and shoulders above anybody else in the NFC, and Delhomme is in a large second tier that also includes Michael Vick, Mark Bulger, Brett Favre, and Mark Brunell.

Vick is #12? I did not think he would be that high!

I would rate Hasselback #1 because Delhomme still throws too many interceptions but the guy is $ in the playoffs. He really rises to the occasion.

Jake Delhommes numbers the last 3 years vs Matt HasselbacksDelhomme: 10,526 yds, 72 throwing Td's, 3 rushing Td's, and 47 ints.Hasselback: 10,682 yds, 72 throwing TD's, 4 rushing TD's and 39 ints.I think these 2 are pretty similar. It is almost a toss up therefore I think Delhomme and his playoff success should get the nod here.Delhomme is the most underrated offensive player in the NFL IMO. He should be mentioned as a candidate for a top 5 QB but often gets over looked.

Too many of you are jaded by his lack of Fantasy Football points. Delhomme is one of the best, if not THE best, QBs in the NFC. He's got heart, plus Steve Smith.

yeah the reason people dont appreciate him as much is because this is a fantasy football website and he is inconsistent week to weekthats because the Panthers are a running team, and a TON of times this year Delhomme would get them to the redzone and then they'd punch it in with Stephen Davishe's very very good Jakei so wish Dallas had signed him when they had the chance to.....damn Parcells

warner has the best career QB rating of anyone here.Call me crazy but I'd choose Bulger out of the guys on this list.

No...his accuracy is no where good enough and his decision making still is somewhat lacking. He misses to many open WRs and throws off the back foot at times. That said, I have seen improvement and believe he will continue to make progress. Getting Kerry Stone Hands Colbert out of the lineup would help him.

A key distinction here is in the NFC.I'd take 5 guys from the AFC (Brady, Manning, Rothlisberger, Palmer, and Brees) before any NFC QB right now. But I would take Delhomme before Hasselbeck. The guy can carry the load.

2004: 29 TDs, 15 INTs, 3886 yards

2005: 24 TDs, 16 INTs, 3421 yards

Career playoff numbers: 10 TDs, 2 INTs, 98/157 for 1446 yards, 5 wins and 1 loss.
I love Delhomme. He is a fiery competitor and a winner BUT the best QB in the NFC is Mr. Matt Hasselbeck!!Now that's a :goodposting: !!

I don't think he's the best QB, I just think he has the best weapon in Steve Smith. All they gotta do is get the ball in his hands and the guy makes plays. He's an unstoppable FREAK! In 2 games against the Bears he put up almost 400 yds receiving!!! However, Delhomme did pretty good last year with Moose as well. But Moose isn't the freak the Smith is.

This is false. S. Smith is a top 5 WR. But, Delhommes best statistical year came last year when S. Smith was injured. How quickly people forget Mushy's success last year.

I mentioned that.

The numbers don't tell the whole story. He's also got great intangibles. Leadership, passion, work-ethic, ability to raise his game. Also I don't think he would blame his failures on his line, like some QBs might.....

Yes, I know you did but then one sentence later you said S. Smith is a freak. And although I agree that Smith is better then Moose, Delhomme had a statistically better year with Smith not there last year. I think people need to quit attributing Jake's success to players around him and give him his due respect. The guy can play: period!

He can play, but Hasselbeck is getting seriously disrespected. He lost DJax and didn't miss a beat throwing to Engram, Jurevicius, and Hackett.

Your right Hass can play. And is a great QB. Hass plays in a great system and has a great O-line and running game to compliment his great passing skills as well. IMO Hass gets more recognition as being a much better QB then Jake which I feel is not the case. I think they are very close at this point but before the playoffs everyone would have been saying Hass by a mile which was clearly not the case.

Best QB in the NFC is McNabb.2nd best would go to Hass.No chance Delhomme is the best QB in the NFC. He may be underrated, but he still isn't as good as McNabb or Hasselbeck.Hasselbeck is better in practically every statistical category (passing yards, TDs, ints, QB rating) than Delhomme over the past 3 years and the Hawks have the 3rd best record in the NFL over the past few years, only behind Indy and New England. Not sure how Delhomme gets the nod over Hass.

Yep. The guy has been decent at winning football games since arriving in Carolina. That team was crushed with injuries last season and he nearly brought them back to the playoffs. He is nails in the postseason. It is pretty clear guys on his team play hard for him. What qualifiers are missing? He might not be the best but in a real football game...not an EA sports game or FF game...but real football game that I needed to win I would take him over everyone in the NFC except McNabb, Favre and Hasselbeck.

Just a little Devil's Advocate...if it is that easy than why did the Collins to Moss connection fail? Injuries aside, what happened? Why did S. Moss have such a great year in Washington for a washed up QB? How about Galloway in Tampa with Simms? The QB-WR relationship is very symbiotic. Total chicken versus egg scenario, opinion, and you cannot have one without the other. Great QB make an average WR better and a great WR makes an average QB great. I'd say Smith and Delhomme are each above average and complimentary of one another.

Was McNabb an oversight or an intentional snub?

Is there still a debate between Hasselbeck and Delhomme?

Hass definitely played better in this game, but one game does not make this any easier. Delhomme has made a SB appearence already, and their stats are pretty close. Right now it is Hass because of this game but still plenty of debate to be had. Next year will put alot of it to rest.

Is there still a debate between Hasselbeck and Delhomme?
Sure. You'll always find someone willing to debate it. You'll also find someone that wants to debate whether or not the moon landing and the holocaust occurred.

I lost a lot of admiration that I used to have for Delhomme, not because his team seemed to give up on him in the NFC Championship, but because he had a post-game conference where he basically behaved (from my perception) like a cocky ######## after the Giants game.I had always perceived him as one of the nice humble guys, but he struck me as the ######## salesman-type in that interview. #### Delhomme.
