Jake Long vs. Ryan Clady (1 Viewer)

I am having a tough time with these 2 trying to figure out who will be better over their career.

Hard to argue that Clady wasn't sensational as a rookie giving up only 0.5 sacks the anchor guy. But Jake Long was very good also as the LT for Miami and was a pro bowler.

Thoughts?

I know it isn't a sexy topic, but any thoughts would be cool.

Pretty hard to argue with 0.5 sacks given up in 620 attempts. The question about Clady coming out of college was whether or not he could run block. I so no indication that Clady could not last year. I think Clady will be the top OT in the league for years to come....but maybe my homer goggles have something to do with that.

I think it is safe to say that both are going to be really good for a very long time, so who cares.

But if you really do care, I would say Jake Long by a tiny fraction. I am skepticle about McDaniels and what he will do with his gameplans, which could slighty effect the long term performance of Clady.

I'm curious to see how Clady performs as a run blocker in McDaniels' offense as opposed to Shanny's zone-blocking scheme.

I would probably favor Long because he is a more powerful, road-grader type run blocker but I'd certainly be happy with Clady protecting my QB's backside.
