Hey gang, any thoughts on this guy? Drafted 1.08 in 2007, seems to be NO pub around him, not much on player page, and no buzz. Is he a bust? Does he have upside?

H'es been a huge bust. The Falcons are still being patient with him but there was some talk in the local papers back in training camp that their patience was wearing thin. At his current rate of progress it wouldn't surprise me if he were cut before the 2010 season.

I don't think they'll cut him because, fact is, he's a pretty good against the run, and I suspect he'd have a significant cap number. That's not what you draft for at 1.08, but he's still a solid rotational defensive lineman. He's just slow getting to the QB. I"ve seen countless plays where Anderson flushed the QB right into the loving arms of Abraham, and I've thought he should've gotten credit for several half sacks but, in the end, he's not the pass rusher they hoped he was. Not sure what his contract is, but they'll either negotiate the contract down or let him walk in FA.He'll be in on run downs, and it's looking like Bierman (Kerney II ?) is going to see some time on passing downs. From a fantasy perspective, it's probably way past time to let go of JA.

good against the run, but he's a bust as a pass rusher and the Falcons are now using a rotation with Biermann probably getting the majority of nickel snaps at DE opposite Abraham after his week 1 performance.

Now there was something the other day about a rotation of 7 on the DL. Who was the 7 guys. Can we expect Biermann to do this again or was it a fluke. Also talk was early of moving Anderson to DT.

I thought I'd read somewhere where they were considering moving him inside to DT.
I think that was more speculation than reality. Atl does feature a DL rotation, much like NYG that includes DEs Abraham, Bierman, Davis, and Anderson and DTs, Jerry, Babineux, Johnson and Lewis. Sidbury will get snaps at DE, I'm sure. Didn't pay attention to the inactives list last week to see if all were activated.
