I'm just curious if he's going to get limited touches against the Broncos. Who knows with Haley. He finished out the game and was on the field for overtime. Can't imagine it'd be too serious if he finished out the game.
He will have limited touches. Whether it is because of injury or Haley's ongoing idiocy is anyone's guess.I'm just curious if he's going to get limited touches against the Broncos. Tell that to Pierre Thomas. He finished out the game and was on the field for overtime. Can't imagine it'd be too serious if he finished out the game.
Best I could findhttp://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...0039&spln=1Any updates on this from practice today?
Well...why not? He is 14th in my league...I took him as the 16th RB off the board.Right now he is doing about what I drafted him to do as my RB2.Sure, Id like a bit more and think he is capable of it...but what I don't get is why even make a comment like this?Cue the "well JC is still top 15 RB, so I didn't waste my pick" comments
Are you new to the Charles threads? That is the standard response by people that drafted him the top 3 rounds, just beating them to the punch. Also, I bet you didn't draft him as your RB2 thinking he would have 50% or less of the RB touches, did you?Well...why not? Perhaps no...but my league doesn't give points for percentage of touches...so I don't care as long as he keeps producing. Are you new to the Charles threads? Those Charles owners are almost as much of a cliche as the TJ owners who gloat after a 19 carry/32 yard week.Charles is on pace to do exactly what most people projected coming into the year. High ypc, good receiving yards, handful of TDs and probably a bit inconsistent from week to week. Bonus is that Charles has been MORE consistent than TJ. Charles' lowest output in any one game this year is 76 combined yards. TJ has put up a 39, a 19 and a 32.We are all very proud of the TJ owners for getting a guy who splits time at RB late in the draft. It doesn't mean TJ is even close to the asset Charles has been this year in FF.When your worst week of the year is 76 combined yards, I'll trot you out every single week. Are you new to the Charles threads? The main complaint by JC supporters is the lack of opportunity... go reread some of the Charles threads or look above in post #5 or #6 when referencing Charles lack of touches as "Haley's idiocy"...Also, I assume the retort about TJ owners was directed at me and I will say that I own him on one dynasty team as a RB 4/5 going into the season and have been forced to start him a few times, but I am first and foremost a Chief's fan. We've been hearing from the JC owners since last year about how he is the next Chris Johnson, and while he still could be, they overlooked what he did last year and went out and got TJ. TJ is not a world beater, but he is solid, doesn't fumble (last week not withstanding in a rain storm) and he does the little things that Haley likes. Haley has been glowing about this guy every time he talks about him for 6 months, but the JC owners ignore that and then complain when he doesn't get 15-20 carries per game. Ideally, TJ would get 15 touches and so would JC, but his touches would include 4-5 receptions since he is obviously the big play guy. It isn't complicated, Haley isn't an idiot, they are using a very potent running game to cover up their horrible passing game and should probably be 6-2 and running away with the division.Perhaps no...but my league doesn't give points for percentage of touches...so I don't care as long as he keeps producing. Are you new to the Charles threads? hes been very consistent actually. only 2 games under 10fpts at 7.6 and 8.Those Charles owners are almost as much of a cliche as the TJ owners who gloat after a 19 carry/32 yard week.

Sure...we would like to see him get more touches.I think it would boost him quite higher than where he is.However, that does not make the guy a wasted pick. The main complaint by JC supporters is the lack of opportunity... go reread some of the Charles threads or look above in post #5 or #6 when referencing Charles lack of touches as "Haley's idiocy"...Perhaps no...but my league doesn't give points for percentage of touches...so I don't care as long as he keeps producing. Are you new to the Charles threads? We justify it because people keep acting as if he is some bust of a pick. When he is generally performing right in line with where he was drafted.I didn't say it was a wasted pick, but that is a standard response because they have to justify it, because he is a high ceiling type of fantasy player and can make up the points with big plays...but you can't really count on those plays each week without having some kind of let down when he doesn't rip off a huge gain or two. I personally think Charles is a very good RB, who has a chance to be great, but so is TJ and contrary to what fantasy football websites say, Thomas Jones is not dead. He has played very well and is a leader of that offense...just because he doesn't score a ton or have the eye-popping play every week on Sports Center, doesn't mean the offense doesn't run through him as much as it does Charles, which is the point I've been trying to make since the pre-season.Charles has been pulling himself out of games and apparently Haley doesn't like it, so his idiocy is that he can't get JC to play through pain and stay on the field to live up to his potential.
when the numbers for the U.S. economy are released (usually at 8:30 AM ET), financial markets respond either positively or negatively (by either a lot or a little). there are surveys of the expecations of traders (and economists) and you'd think that it is the difference between the actual number and the expectations in these surveys that would cause the market's reaction. but there is another number, called the "whisper number" on the street, that tells you what traders really think might happen. and markets actually respond to the difference between the actual number and the whisper number. i think that's what's going on here -- people drafted Charles at a particular spot, and that would be analogous to the surveys of expectations. but many hoped he'd do much more -- that he was a fabulous sleeper, and that is analogous to the whisper number. he's performing right about where he should given his ADP, but well below where people hoped he would as a super sleeper. We justify it because people keep acting as if he is some bust of a pick. When he is generally performing right in line with where he was drafted.I didn't say it was a wasted pick, but that is a standard response because they have to justify it, because he is a high ceiling type of fantasy player and can make up the points with big plays...but you can't really count on those plays each week without having some kind of let down when he doesn't rip off a huge gain or two. what makes you believe he is in the "doghouse"? His touches have been pretty consistent all season long.I'm just wondering if JC is slowly entering Haley's doghouse. While he has a great matchup this weekend, if he only gets 10-15 touches he will have to break a long run to be worthwhile. I am going with SJax over JC as I need guaranteed points from my RB, not potluck.
I really can't believe that any Chief fan thinks that the offense is just as good with Jones in. It is like night and day, really.I personally think Charles is a very good RB, who has a chance to be great, but so is TJ and contrary to what fantasy football websites say, Thomas Jones is not dead. A mix of the 2 RBs and what they bring (you know speed vs. picking up blockers, etc...) to complement each other is just fine with this Chiefs fan. The problem has been Cassell and Bowe taking turns seeing who can suck worse. Charles has been dinged consistently during his short career, ankle here, shoulder surgery there, etc... whether it is right or wrong, they obviously don't trust him to carry the load. It really isnt' that hard to understand, itis a RBBC and they are keeping both healthy and making a serious push at a division title. Running Charles into the ground isn't going to accomplish the goals of the team and unfortunately your fantasy team has to suffer.I really can't believe that any Chief fan thinks that the offense is just as good with Jones in. Nobody is talking about running Charles into the ground. Giving him more carries than a much less effective Jones would be nice. Giving Charles 20 touches a game certainly wouldn't be running him into the ground.A mix of the 2 RBs and what they bring (you know speed vs. picking up blockers, etc...) to complement each other is just fine with this Chiefs fan. So Did PT when he got hurt.He finished out the game and was on the field for overtime. Can't imagine it'd be too serious if he finished out the game.
And did PT practice in full throughout the entire week for his next game?So Did PT when he got hurt.He finished out the game and was on the field for overtime. Can't imagine it'd be too serious if he finished out the game.

Panic much?Being down 35-0 is good for JC. Shouldn't see much TJ since they are going to be passing a lot.Still a lot of time left for JC to do some damage fantasy wise.So much for the dream matchup vs Denver.
Unless JC is now a cornerback... I really don't think one was in his control. Hopefully they come out and use the short passing game that Denver will probably be giving them.ponchsox said:So much for the dream matchup vs Denver.
Charles did get the start, but I think the disproportionate carries was more the case of the Chiefs playing from behind.I doubt the defense's collapse will alter Haley's view of the Charles/Jones tandem, as Haley seems to have a woody for Jones. That said, Charles owners may take some solace that the disaster MAY cause team brass to realize that they need to change things around. Whether that includes giving more touches to Charles, however, still remains to be seen.JC had 19 touches compared to Jones' 5. Is this likely to continue, or just the result of the Chiefs playing from behind?
