Jamal Lewis may get BIG workload this weekend (1 Viewer)

Jamal Lewis says he isn't a 13-15 carry back. He says he needs to get 25-30 carries per game to be successful. It wouldn't be surprising for Baltimore to give Lewis a ton of work this weekend against the Panthers. Then, if he falters again, Musa Smith or Mike Anderson would quite possibly get a chance to start. Lewis may not react well to being a three-to-five carry back.

No.

Ravens: Lewis to share carries?

10/13/06 11:17 AM

THE NEWS

The Ravens may get both Mike Anderson and Musa Smith more involved in their running game, following a second straight outing in which Jamal Lewis struggled. "We need to run the ball better," Ravens coach Brian Billick told the Baltimore Sun. "I've said it a number of times—and I don't mean to be insensitive—I don't give a flip on who carries it as long as we get the productivity and as long as we get the number of runs out of the running game.

The good thing about this is there is a lot of evidence and analysis to back up your theory.

Seriously, there is nothing to indicate that he will get an increased workload. In fact, there is probably more evidence that he will be getting a reduced workload.

Not my theory, its from all star stats fantasy football site

Watching that game last week, both Musa Smith and Mike Anderson had a lot more burst than Lewis. Wasn't even close.

I think Lewis won't get more than 15 carries in a game for the rest of the season.

I agree that Smith and Anderson both looked better,no question.......However,Jamal's #'s are better the more carries he gets according to his stats so far.....Just woldn't surprise me is Billick gives him a heavier load this weekendStatistics for Each Game Week Rush Att Rush Yds Rush TDs 2 Pt Rush Recep Recep Yds Recep TDs 2 Pt Recp Punt Ret Yds KO Ret Yds Fum 1 18 78 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 19 70 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 3 21 86 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 4 15 34 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 5 15 43 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 0

Jaml wont get a chance to carry the ball 25 times because the Ravens will be playing from behind all day. Their defense is overrated and their O stinks. I own both Jamal and Mason and just picked up Musa. Jamal has been a huge dissappointment so far and showed no signs of brilliance to come. Believe me I want him to explode more than anyone but he couldnt break 100 yards against TB,OAK and my Brownies. SD shoulda killed them but Marty was overly Marty and the weather helped keep Denver from goin downfield on them.

I am going to start Mason over Lewis in my flex ,in my PPR league and pray that I make a bad decision, then maybe someone will bite on a trade offer.

And it became your theory when you started a thread with that statement. If you wont use your own thoughts then at least start off the thread by saying " All Star Stats Fantasy Football Site says.........Jamal Lewis.........Briean Billick. I agree/disagree with this statement because......"At least then when u get called out you can defend yourself like a man!

And why exactly will this happen? Because you thought it up?

your stats don't prove your theory. you need to measure each tranche of carries, not them in total. 1st 5, 2nd 5, 3rd 5, etc. For example, in week 3 he could have had 85 yards on his first carry and 1 on his next 20.

I would love to see Lewis get 25-30 carries this weekend to see what he could do.....He said thats what he needs to be successful and while I'm not sure if I believe it or not I do know that sometimes RB's can wear defenses down and can actually get stronger as the game progressesWho knows, maybe Billick will give him the oppurtunity to prove it.....NONE of us in this forum know for sure how it will be handled until kickoff Sunday

Lewis might see a ton of carries only because word has leaked about splitting carries more.

NFL coaches love to mess with the minds of FF players!!!

:wall: :wall: :wall:

;)

wouldnt surprise me if they give Jamal the ball 25 times this week to prove what he said
NFL teams aren't in business to allow players to "prove what they say". Say Billick allowed Jamal to 'prove what he [supposedly] said' and Jamal still sucks rocks, leading the Ravens lose the ballgame. Say the Ravens then end up one game shy of a play-off berth at season's end. Think Billick has a job as head coach of the Ravens next year?Me neither. Ain't happening; doesn't happen in the NFL. Get real. Please.

oh sure, and who knows, perhaps Walters throws 5 TDs this week because he hasnt had a chance to show his potential... :hophead: No one knows, correct, but if we all started threads hypothesizing about what could happen to a certain player even though most signs point to the exact opposite happening, this forum would be unreadable.
