Since this is a fantasy football site, if Allen plays DE in Carolina, what are the chances of MFL switching his position to DE? He is a virtually worthless LB in several of my leagues.

Just not a good fit for their system. I held onto Wilie Young for this exact reason, hoping they would send him to a 4-3 team.

I agree. What I am wondering is has anyone tracked it enough in the past to have an idea how likely MFL would change his position and how quickly. The leagues I am talking about use the positions they have a player listed as their position they can play.

I inquired with MFL about position changes during the preseason and they indicated that they do not do any position changes once the season starts. I don't know if they will hold true to that for a traded player or not.

Not cleaning house... Jared Allen never really fit into Vic Fangio's 3-4 defense. In fact in yesterday's game I remember them rotating him out for a lot of other players to see what they had in them.

Thanks. That is what I was looking for. So Allen may be of little value as a DE but probably has even less value if he looks like he will stay a LB.

Olsen was a steal. Their GM admitted the trade was a huge mistake. Allen is dirt cheap for the Panthers this year at 800k so all he has to do is be decent for them to get their money worth. I think he can provide pressure and hopefully help out young guys as a mentor. He is a hard worker with a non-stop motor that will be a nice example to have around. If he plays above average its a win for the Panthers.

Too early to tell. Forte wanted a redone contract and didn't get it, Bennett too, it bears watching until the Nov 3rd trade deadline.
