Jared Allen? What the hell is wrong here? Drop him? (1 Viewer)

It's only 2 games, and Manning doesn't get sacked often, yet Allen still got to him once. Also, how many times did Indy run today? Not many tackle opps for him... silly question. esp. in dynasty.

Ignore the fact that Jared Allen finished #1 and #1 for DL in FF the last 2 years respectively, and drop him.

Kyle Williams, DT, BUF is likely on your waiver wire and he has 2 and a half more sacks and over 2 and a half more tackles than Allen does so far this year.

ETA: just in case you couldn't tell: :D

Will you cut Braylon Edwards after 2 bad games? How about LT?

Hope you see the point. Even studs have bad games. The total over a 16 game season is not always reflected in the first 2 games.

Just to amplify what others are saying, this is like saying you should cut Peyton Manning because he's had a bad start to 2008.

Elite DE's are IDP gold because they're rare; the best comparison is to elite TE's, who tend to be about as difficult to acquire.

Quit being impulsive and believing that you can control everything in fantasy football. Your starting lineup is always, except for those very rare and memorable games, going to have certain parts of it that perform well, and other parts that perform average, and still other parts that perform badly, and what parts fall into what category will vary from week to week. If you've constructed the roster well, you'll get through that all right because that's what happens to everybody.

If the worst problem you have on your roster at the moment is that Jared Allen is underperforming his draft position/market value, I'd say you're doing just fine.

Here is an experiment you can do, and then chalk it up to a learning experience:

1. Announce to your league that you will be dropping Jared Allen

2. Drop Allen from your team

3. Watch how quickly he is snapped up in your league.

Apples to oranges - but he has 2 Tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack, 1 PD more than he did after two games last season.

Allen is actually way ahead of last year's pace. Through the first two weeks last year, he had not even played.
