everyone seems to focus on what Cutler did in 5 games last year...

yet, i haven't seen too many people focus on Campbell throwing 10 TDs over 7 games... which projects him around 22 TDs...

I'm most likely shooting for him as my last pick in the draft (10 team league, 2QB max roster; i don't think anyone else will draft him with mags putting him in the 25-30 blocks)

what's the knock on him? just that he plays for a run first team?

From the redskins website:

"2006: Campbell stepped in as the Redskins' starter in Week 11 of the regular season, replacing Mark Brunell. He completed 110-of-207 passes, a 53.1 percent clip, for 1,297 yards, 10 TDs, six interception and a QB rating of 76.5. He guided the Redskins to a 2-5 record in his seven starts.

* Campbell made his first NFL start in Week 11 (Nov. 19, 2006)at Tampa Bay. He completed 19-of-34 passes for 196 yards, two touchdowns and a 92.3 QB rating. He threw his first career TD pass to Chris Cooley on a 3-yard pass.

* In Week 12 vs. Carolina, he completed 11-of-23 passes for 118 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He completed a 66-yard TD pass to Chris Cooley in the fourth quarter that proved to be a game-winning score.

* In Week 14 vs. Philadelphia, Campbell was 15-of-27 for 182 yards and one TD pass. He was intercepted twice. He also had four rushes for 38 yards.

* In Week 17 vs. New York Giants, he set career highs by completing 21 passes for 220 yards. He also threw two touchdown passes and one interception. He had three rushes for 30 yards. "

He has a TD pass in all 7 games he played in... seemed to have a particular bond with Cooley (which is good for cooley fans)

i don't think he's a bad choice for a backup and his price is dirt cheap. 2-5 record aside...

Campbell's definitely undervalued. As Maurile's pointed out, he also rates well on the David Lewin scale: he started 39 games and completed 65% of his passes (although his low number of attempts may be relevant there).

What we've seen of him has been impressive. He's got great size and spent a year on the bench, which is supposed to be a good thing. Then he comes in last year and plays well in his first NFL action. He's definitely a good candidate for a breakout year, especially if the Redskins can get anything out of Randle El or Lloyd.
