Initially, I'd assume he may be in line for rd down duties, but how far do you think Williams is from starting over over Keith Brooking?

Might such circumstances occur this year?

Also, I'd assume he's take over the WILB spot (which I think is the higher scoring position in this scheme), correct?

I think Brooking would have to break down for Williams to get significant playing time this year. I think Williams will get a chance to show he can contribute in the nickel, but I think Brooking is still the favorite for those snaps as well. I think 2010 is the target year, but if Brooking remains effective it may be later. Still, as we noted in the upcoming draft review podcast show, if you're looking for upside in the second and third tiers, Williams has big upside if he wins an every down job in a Phillips defense at WILB.

how did Thomas/James line up last year? was James at WILB?
James played on the strong side.
makes sense. all those sacks really inflated his value.
The sacks were a huge boost for him. I wonder how much he'll be overdrafted in tackle leagues as a result. However, after taking over the bulk of the nickel snaps with Thomas floundering and Burnett fighting injury (and his own good play) in the second half bumped his tackle splits, too.I think there's room for James to push 90 solos this year, but a healthy and productive Brooking might make it tough.
