Jason Witten with Romo (1 Viewer)

I don't watch enough Cowboy games to know but I have seen the last two and was pleasantly surprised to see Witten much more involved in the offense. It's obvious that Witten and Romo have a good repoire and Romo is finding Witten not just as a safety valve but also as the #2 read on passing plays...

my thought.

since Bledsoe can't move in the pocket, were the Cowboys keeping Witten in as an extra blocker more often and now with Romo is he going out into pattern more often.

Witten's game log this year

3/33/0

4/45/0

2/19/0

4/51/0

3/17/0

4/72/0 (Romo's first game, played in the 2nd half, if i remember all four of Wittens catches cam ein the 2nd half

6/80/1

In one and a half games of football playing with Romo, Hard Hitten Jason Witten has had 10 cathces for 152 yards.

in the previous 5 1/2 games he had 16 catches for 165 yards

Witten was also targeted in the endzone and barely missed a second TD.

Is also appears that with Romo's propensity to improvise a bit (move outside the pocket) yet keep his head up to pass as he moves, Witten is going to benefit as the TE is often a good target who is closer to the scrambling QB than other recievers.

Romo is the best thing to happen to Witten since.... well, maybe ever!

Witten was a ####### machine last night. Romo used him to slice right thru the heart of the Panthers defense last night. I see big things moving forward not just for Witten but Romo as well. His stats may not jump out at first but he had 270 yards thru the air and Dallas had to have at least 100-150 yds rushing too last night...they looked good and full of themselves. Parcells was kissing everyone within 10 feet of him at the end of that game.

Dallas looks focused and ready to roll in the 2nd half of the season.

Bingo. This is the difference.
I would say that is some, but Witten was out on a lot of patterns and not getting the looks. He is getting the looks now. They often have him and Fasano in there, and Fasano usually blocks not Witten

Big Cowboy fan here. Witten and Romo are best friends off the field. I dont recall the exact quote, but Witten during training camp hinted that it was time for Romo to start. Witten is a big Romo supporter. In addition to Witten's talent, this is a big reason why Romo will continue to look his way.

from the cowboys blog, witten has been going out in patterns. however bledsoe just doesn't see him, and when he did either bledsoe missed or witten dropped it.

so it's romo as well as slightly better play by witten

Romo is no dummy. He is feeding T.O and Witten. Glenn will hadnle the lower targets like a pro. Glenn will still get his, but he deserves a mild dropping.

Look out for T.O. now.
