With the Terry Glenn injury news, and the connections he already has with Romo......Witten is primed to put up huge numbers from here on out.

Teams will now double T.O. (or cheat coverage his way) on almost every play, leaving the #2 WR (Crayton, Hurd) with lesser coverage, and Witten has already produced now without Bledsoe....I have to think that this guy will just become an even more integral part of the offense(which is not normal of a Parcells team) but I don't see any other way it can go.

EDIT....SORRY WITTEN........quick typing....and normal English possesed me to put an H!

I agree but his lack of production in some games this year has temperred my enthusiasm.

I also think the young WRs ability to go deep should help him too.

First of all there is no "h" and second of all, no Terry Glenn hurts due to more coverage shifting his way.

He stays in to block alot(too much IMO) so I don't see the coverage shifting as a practical thing for the D.

Not anymore. Now that Bledsoe is on the bench Witten's been used much more in the passing game. His per game targets with Romo are nearly double what they were when Bledsoe was playing.

Sorry...fixed, trying to keep an eye out while I'm @ work.....don't have the luxury of wasting too much time. :wall:

Seemed to me he was in plenty last couple games I saw. No clue why but I saw last few games while in NY. Targets don't equal going out for a pass, I get your point though

With the switch at QB, Witten has been freed up to go out into pass patterns more. With Bledsoe at QB (early in the year) Witten was forced to stay in to block. But now that a more mobile Romo is playing QB, Witten has been running more patterns. Just look at Witten's numbers with Bledsoe vs his numbers now with Romo.Edited to add Witten's numbers...

With Bledsoe in 5 games

16/168/0TDs

With Romo in 3 games

15/202/1TD

I think he's going out on more pass routes, I just think he's still in too much. IMO if Fasano is in, Witten shouldn't be blocking. And FWIW I don't care for Fasano getting a single pass :D

Not a Dallas expert by any means but I was under the impression that Fasano was not a good blocker. As such, if Fasano is in the game it's more likely that Witten will be blocking.
