**** Jauron as a defensive coordinator? (1 Viewer)

It’s no secret that the Giants defense was a huge disappointment this year and with such a huge disappointment comes a lot of speculation.

The NY Post ran an article earlier month stating that if the Panthers fire Fox he would be a perfect match to run the Giants defense.

The article did say that the 1st logical replacement is **** Jauron.

Anyone have some info on him as a D coordinator?

i'd be pretty surprised if Fox jumps right back into a DC job (especially with the franchise he came from). Unless he feels he can get the Giants job when Coughlin retires, i think he'd probably pass.

Jauron was just painfully bad as the bills coach. He's got a lot of stink on him right now. Not sure they'd really want him.

He was DC under Coughlin in Jacksonville. Bills fans (and/or Jene) can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he runs a 4-3 and generally employs a smaller, quicker, penetrating front 7.

Jauron is conservative. I think he may have been a lesser assistant on some 3-4 coaching staffs long ago, but his defenses have generally tended toward 4-3, low blitz rate, high zone coverage schemes. More read-and-react, bend-don't-break philosophy than anything aggressive. Will use some zone blitz concepts as a hedge at times. Generally well respected as a coordinator, though fans tend to get fussy when his bend-don't-break philosophy struggles when the front four isn't good enough to generate pressure.

He'd be very different than anything Steve Spagnuolo ran and almost certainly more conservative than Tim Lewis, too.

jauron is like lebeau great def coordinator bad head coach imo
Absolutely. He actually was a pretty good safety back when he played, many years ago. But just keep him away from the head coaching position.
I don;t think either of you are correct. When he wen to the Bears the team he left was merely mediocre at D. Can you point to a stat somewhere?

u see how everyone on the bills is ir? ironic thing is it is because **** is soft!!! he should be a def back coach. that's it. guy is nice but he sucks. not sure how he was a head coach in the nfl--- oh yes i do... he was cheap and he was a pushover. i hope the giants take him cause they will suck even worse than they do now!! ahahaha! Panthers destroyed those guys yesterday! pathetic
