Javon Walker injured (1 Viewer)

Starter in all my leagues...if it's a break, this could cripple me for the season...not good. And its not good for Favre, Driver, it has a trickle down affect I would think.

LATEST NEWS Walker suffered an injury to his right knee in the third quarter at Detroit in Week 1. His return is uncertain, but he was able to walk off the field on his own power.

Javon Walker is out of the game and has been taken to the locker room on a cart. No word on the injury yet but it looked like his left leg buckled and wobbled awkwardly before he hit the ground. He appeared to be holding his knee or lower leg as trainers looked at him.
Taken from the other injury thread.

Whatever, but I will take walking off the field on his own power as a good sign, whether you do or not.

Lots of players walk off the field with torn ACL's.

exactly - the walking/non walking/cart/own power/etc has nothing to do with the severity of a players injuryMRI = the only thing that counts

You must like the red stuff an awful lot :bag:

Walking off the field with a sprain is nothing. I walked 6 miles on an ankle sprain out of necessity a few years ago and then missed 5 weeks of work because of it. It wont really bother him until after the adrenaline wears off if it is a sprain.

Well, lets hope he is fine. Nothing else to say about it until after the MRI.

As mad as I am if he goes down for the seson with an ACL, if he hadn't pushed the defender to the side he wouldn't have caught the ball and been off to the races...he committed offensive pass interference on the play.

I somehow avoided Walker in the vast majority of my leagues despite being reasonably high on him. I guess I was so focused on what a value pick Donald Driver was this season, I passed on Walker not wanting two guys from the same team.

This sucks for Javon and Green Bay.. he is a very explosive receiver and I'm not sure if Driver will play well getting covered by the #1 corner back..with that said, Driver and Favre have great chemistry and I think it is safe to say that Driver should be able to duplicate his numbers from last year.. (1200 and 9)

He went to the Pro Bowl in 2002 as the Packers' No. 1 WR. What this really does is put the pressure on Ferguson to finally live up to his status as a second-round pick and prove that maybe the team didn't completely f things up when they took him instead of Chris Chambers.

Man what rotten luck for Javon.

What do you guys think this will do for Driver and other GB WRs values?
As bad as they looked today, I'd say they could use all the offensive help they can get just to get within scoring range. I got Driver in two leagues, but wether that is good or bad remains to be seen.

as i'm sure you know, Driver's numbers really seemed to suffer towards the second half of that season.. His total numbers were actually better last year as WR2 than in 2002 as WR1.I believe that after he landed on his neck in that one game in 2002, his numbers started to suffer.

I agree with you about Ferguson also

That injury occurred in 2003, not 2002.
oh.. memory is starting to go.Do you remember why his numbers came down in the 2nd half in 2002?
