Javon Walker Watch (1 Viewer)

This from Rotoworld:

--------------------------------------------------------------

Javon Walker said Monday that he hopes to return sooner than the initial six-week recovery timetable following knee surgery.

(Updated10/30/2007)

"It will be sooner than six weeks," Walker said. "It will be much sooner than that. It feels much better now." At best Walker could be back for the final 4-5 games of the season.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Missing 6 weeks would have Walker back playing in Week 13, just in time for the playoffs. If he comes back a week or two early as Walker and Shanahan have both hinted then he could be back in Week 11 or 12. That would give him time to play a week or two, get his body back into football shape, and then hopefully have some nice games in the fantasy playoffs. The Broncos last five games aren't too bad for passing matchups: @Oak, vKC, @Hou, @SD, and vMinn. It has been tough to hold onto Walker with all the talk about his season basically being over, but it sounds like patient owners may be rewarded yet.

Sounds to me like he might own himself in his fantasy league. Here's to Walker coming back in time to save his owners :excited:

I would love to see the guy return around week 12 fully recovered. That would be great for my team heading into the playoffs.

I had to drop Walker (for Lee Evans on waivers) but this is something I've continued to watch and hope for - I'm working a 3 for 2 trade this week to open up a roster spot, and I'll go right back and stash Walker away for the playoffs.

Thanx for posting the update, CD.

This is the same Javon who said before the Colts game he is definately playing. As a JW owner ina couple of leagues I hope he is right and returns sooner than expected but what he says and reality may be two completely different things.

Yeah... I'm not holding my breath... He'll rot on the bench of my 3-5 team, not b/c I expect him to return & contribute, but b/c I don't wanna see another owner pick him up & reap the benefits if that unlikely event should occur.

If the Broncos continue to find ways to lose, there won't be anything worth coming back for. I'm keeping my fingers crossed as well, but definitely not counting on him.

Wish he could have been there against GB. It would have been fun to watch.

I already have TO, Edwars (off of waivers week 2) , and Galloway, and all of these look OK for the playoffs, so I am not sure I would use Walker, though other injuries could always happen.

On my IR. Hope he comes back as I need him to step in for Calvin JOhnson, who I really like, but doesnt seem to be churning out the FF production I hoped he would.

I hope he comes back. I own both him and Marshall.. I dont know that I would play him the first game or two he comes back...but at least it will help Marshall.

Rod Smith may be in the picture soon...he is practicing with the team now.....That would be a strong recieving group if they're all healthy(Smith,Walker,Marshal and Stokley)

javon is done for the season. drop him.opinion
Is that you, Mrs. Walker? :football: Or do you have a reliable link?
I'll take this one...An opinion does not require a reliable link. Thank you.I'm holding onto Walker in hopes that he'll return. I did the same with KJ and now he's making me proud.
Gosh, i wish i did have a link, but unfortunately it is only my opinion. Javon's track record and previous history with the same knee makes me feel as if this season will be a wash. I anticipate the Broncos smelling up the joint and why risk him this year when he can come back next year fresh. I'd drop him in all formats except dynasty if there was anything remotely worth picking up in exchange.

From RotoWire:

The Broncos haven't counted Walker (knee) out from practicing next week and returning for their next home game Nov. 19 against Tennessee, the Denver Post reports.

That would put Walker's recovery time at four weeks instead of the originally predicted six weeks. There's certainly no guarantee he'll return by that date, but the fact that it is at least being considered is encouraging.

FYI - That is a MNF game. As many times as Walker said she'd be playing and then backed out....you'd have to have a set of brass ones to start this guy with no back up plan that week.

As brutal as the Broncos are, they are very much alive in the AFC West. I don't believe they think the season is lost and they are at the point of saving him for next year. If he's healthy enough to contribute he probably will see the field again. I'm not holding my breath, but one thing is for sure, the Broncos O really needs him.

I'd be surprised if he returned next week but the bottom line is it doesn't matter what Walker (or Shanahan for that matter) says; what does matter is whether Walker practices without limitations. If he does that all week he's worth starting. If he doesn't practice or is limited he shouldn't be considered or only considered if you have a strong backup option in place.

Shanahan said receiver Javon Walker could start running at the end of this week and perhaps return for Denver’s game Nov. 19 against Tennessee. Walker has been out after having knee surgery.

i'm guessing he sits out another 4 weeks, and on the eve of his return decides to get the microfracture surgery.
:bs: Its scary that this sounds so plausible. :bag:

As a guy that was totally sold on Walker having a great year, and spending a high third round pick on him, I am totally prepared for another set back.

Just not his year.

From RotoWorld:

Javon Walker (knee) reiterated Friday that he hopes to play in Week 11.

The Broncos face the Titans on Monday Night Football next weekend. "Tennessee is a maybe," Walker said. "We'll see how it goes. But there is a real chance." He also says he's making rapid progress in his recovery from minor knee surgery: "I feel 10 times better than I did before the surgery. There is no pain, no swelling." Walker should be owned in all leagues.
