Javon Walker (1 Viewer)

I noted with interest that Javon Walker is going to have knee surgery. Last Saturday night Walker was partying and dancing at Moon here in Las Vegas. This isn't idle speculation, I was there. When we got there we were told it was Javon Walker's birthday party - that was the reason for the cheerleaders downstairs.

If the guy was hurt that badly, why didn't he have the surgery prior to the party...they could have wheeled him in and he could have had dance after dance in his wheelchair.....

Don't know whether this is sarcasm or not, but there's a big, big difference between "dancing around" and going through the rigors of an NFL practice or game.

Note that the Broncos were on BYE last week, so he probably wouldn't have tested it truly. While I didn't have the same injury as Walker, I had torn cartilage in my knee and I could do pretty much anything I wanted, until it came to playing sports.

The bigger question is why the Broncos didn't get him a surgical consultation a couple weeks ago.

oh come on, let the guy have his birthday party . . . having a birthday party is a once in a lifetime event . . .

This may be a dumb question, but is it the same knee he injured when he was with GB? I am assuming it is, but not positive....

This was :suds: ....the initial post wasn't sarcastic at all - I think Walker is a slacker. Rather than take care of himself, he was partying at Moon. After his teammate was killed he flew here to party...errrr cope. The guy doesn't get it.

It is hard to argue this assuming the story is true (and I have no reason to think otherwise). This isnt high school ball - this is the guys PROFESSION. Yeah, he is not likely to do any real damage if he takes it easy on the dance floor... BUT WHY RISK IT?At best, you are not RESTING, you are not ELEVATING the knee... you are out, and active, and in a situation where your BEST case scenario is it doesnt get worse but there is plenty of opportunity for worse and worst case scenarios by being out partying at a dance club... unless you are sitting up in the louge and STAYING OFF THE INJURED KNEE.The point about the bye is a good one - we dont know if the broncos could have opted for surgery earlier, but if they could have it would make sense to use the bye week as one of your recoup weeks instead of missing an additional game.
