Jeff Feagles just played in his fourth decade (1 Viewer)

Looking to get a free beer with some barroom trivia?

Feagles has now played in the 80's, 90's, 00's, and 10's.

Looking at it, I may be wrong because he technically only played in the AFL (and not the NFL) in the 60s.
Yeah, but considering the two leagues merged and the NFL has adopted all of the AFL's records as its own, I'd say it counts, especially once the Super Bowl era began.Lou Groza also played pro football in the same four decades, but he only played in the AAFC in the '40s. That's a harder argument to make (although the Browns did merge into the NFL, the NFL did not accept AAFC statistics), but it does fit the spirit if not the rule of the question.

If John Carney comes back, he could also join Feagles as playing in the '80s, '90s, '00s and '10s.

Cue the "decade" nazis in 3...2...1...
The decade nazis showing up is a good thing. It's nice when those that are both self-righteous and wrong all the time identify themselves.
LOL - I'm pretty agnostic on the whole thing (and actually if anything go with the 00-09 definition - that is what people identify with - people don't seem to take issue with months being of varying lengths for example). It's funny though because it was the first thing to spring to mind when I saw the post  -QG

Oh geez. Don't be that guy. The dude who tells everyone that a tomato is a fruit if someone calls it a vegetable. Or calls songs from 1980, 70's songs. By now, I'm pretty sure that everyone already knows the technicality.

Sean Landeta retired a few years back after 20 years in NFL (might be 21).

The longevity of these punters is interesting

:hot: punters and kickers are more like baseball players who rarely take a hit, they should have long careers.

Not to mention the fact that Blanda played in Super Bowl II in 1968.

That's definitely true, but it's still impressive that a 40-something year-old guy is still one of the best 32 men in the world at doing what he does, when you consider the number of guys in their 20's coming out of college every single year.
