Check this thread out on one of the Titans boards:

Long story short, some guy makes a post saying Fisher showed up to a charity event with Dungy, takes off his jacket, reveling a Peyton Manning jersey, and then says something like "now I know what it's like to be a winner."

We all called BS, then his buddy sent him pics.

Looks like this really happened.

I think it's pretty funny.

When we first got the franchise, the hottest tickets by far were the Colts games.

A lot of Peyton fans here from his UT days.

Funny how losing adds so much significance (and criticism) to one's actions. This goes for players and coaches alike it seems. If he wins ten straight I'm pretty sure this 'insane' coach will quickly become 'brilliant' once again.

"It is not simply joke. You must think context. If someone were to go to a funeral of someone who had just died of in tragic accident and the family was grieving, would you think it is simply a joke if someone were to stand up and begin humorously roasting the dead person, making fun of him, and expect the family to laugh about it?"

funeral. death. 0-6 football team.

Getting taken to the woodshed and having players quit in the massacre in Foxboro is the perfect time to joke around about being losers.

Not even close to being analogous to above or you are flat out  Yes they are 0-6, but the guy is at a charity event, give me a break. I have not read why he was wearing the shirt (charity auction?) but really, this is a complete non-event.I know Titan's fans are tremendously disappointed with their season so far, but come on, lighten up a little.

Must have missed that, my bad.

Everybody getting all fired up should read this post for context.
Exactly, a couple of years ago people here (NC) went bonkers when Roy Williams wore a KU pin to the KU final game after they knocked out UNC in an almost equally lop-sided game. Reality is, these people have connections that cross enemy lines, senses of humor and frankly, friends. Dungy is tied to the Colts...as the poster above made mention to, Manning is God in TN. The quote "now I am a winner" is just his sense of humor. I understand TN fans are not too happy now, but try being a Raiders, Browns, Houston, Cleveland, Bills...you get the picture...fan over the last 10 years and you have had it pretty good.

And if a Oakland coach had done this days after the worst blowout and loss in franchise history what would Al have done???? Not funny.

Wow, the Browns are double-bad??

For the life of me, I can't figure out how Bill Cower and Wade Phillips were just put in the same sentence as similarities.

I'd take an insane Jeff Fisher over a Wade Phillips without batting an eye!!!!

Wade Phillips? :goodposting:

Because NOT even an oaf like him would pull a stupid stunt like this. Hello!

As much as I like the guy, when a players coach loses the players...it's not far away. That said I think Kerry is done, Vince is not the answer, LBJ is a frontrunner and I can easily see him quitting on Fisher, there are no weapons on offense, there are countless injuries on defense and they are in a pretty tough division. Haynesworth may not be doing much for Washington this year, but he was clearly the defensive MVP of the Titans last year.

After 15 years in the same place, I can see Fisher enjoying the idea of another venue. Or rather, it wouldn't surprise me if he got canned and the feeling was somewhat mutual.

Can anyone here comment on Fisher's role in the draft? He doesn't have GM duties, does he?

I think it would have gone in either one of these directions:1) "I have a coach? A coach for what?"2) "Bed and Breakfast guy...where is that Bed and Breakfast guy when I need him? He can take over the team."3) Die4) If said coach is 250 lbs or more do nothing (i.e. Shell and Cable); if less than 250 lbs and under 40 years of age, steal their paycheck and cry foul. You can come at me, but don't come at me with an Al Davis scenario...that just invalidates the whole arguement.

To people that think it isn't a big deal: Just take a look at that Titans message board. Its all in good fun when its not your 0-6 teams' coach that pulls something like that.

Fisher will be apologizing very soon for that.

Another possible outcome - Al Davis trades the coach for a WR that runs like Usain Bolt , but can't catch a cold.

Still waiting to hear how charity work made Jeff Fisher go insane.
Rocketown is a charity or youth ministry of some sort.
Rocketown shares Christ’s love with youth through creative programs and mentoring relationships that are culturally relevant and eternally significant.
Apparently Jeff Fisher went completely insane during a fund raising dinner for Rocketown. I am just waiting details on the \"completely insane\" part.

Seems like just a joke? Esp with Dungy there? I mean, what else can the dude do to try to take some of the pressure off the 800lb gorilla in the room?

I think this falls under the category of "funnier if it is not my head coach who just got beaten down 59-0 and is 0-6."
