Jeff Garcia is No.1 according to Gruden (1 Viewer)

Gruden announces Garcia No.1

He does it at a Chamber of Commerce event...maybe he will hold his Monday Morning Press Conferences at them too. I like Garcia and have hopes that with him under center that the Bucs running game will be leaps and bounds better than it was last season.

interesting. if it holds up, Bucs probably take a run at a 1st round QB next year.

would they have any interest in Culpepper?

I honestly didn't see this coming. Why didn't they try to draft a future franchise QB and let him spend a year behind Garcia if they have given up on Sims?

My question is, what does this do to the value of the other TB players? Specifically, Michael Clayton?

If you understand Gruden's offense...this is no surprise.

Simms could be a legit NFL starter, but not running this offense. Gruden needs someone who makes quick decisions and can move in the pocket...like Rich Gannon.

Simms has a rocket arm and may throw the prettiest deep ball in the league, but his decision-making is slow and his feet are slower.

This is what I was thinking also. This year and next will be Garcia while grooming Sims and depending on how he comes along they might draft a rookie next year.

This would be my main question. Garcia seems to hit his WR's well....TO in SF and Reggie Brown. Who will it be in TB?Does Galloway still have it in the tank? I think so.Michael Clayton, Maurice Stovall, David Boston....help me out guys....who will win that battle?

HAHA....you'll never live that down will you.I actually like Clayton to bounce back....its just something about his 6-5 frame that can't be ignored, hopefully he can bring it together.

Not sure that Garcia will see the same success that he did in Philly.

He had a much better supporting cast there. However, its probably a good idea to move forward with Garcia as your guy and see how Simms fits back in (health and otherwise), as the season gets underway.

I think Garcia will be a great late-round sleeper for anyone who drafts him. Tampa Bay has one of the most generous schedules in the league and Garcia has ample targets in Galloway and Clayton.

Being a Garcia and Clayton owner in one of my other leagues, I'm starting to get somewhat optimistic about a Clayton comeback.

this may be wishfull thinking as i am a clayton owner, but garcia is a pure wco offense quaterback. he does not have a strong arm, but is a mobile and very accurate passer. i think this bodes well more so for a clayton type receiver ( good route runner and yac guy ) then a galloway type of receiver ( all speed stretch the field type receiver ).

without truely looking into the situation and just going on more of a gut feeling, i think you will definately see galloways targets decrease while claytons targets increase. will they increase enough to make him worth starting? i can only hope so and we will see.
