PFF recently had him listed as one of their top breakout candidates for ‘22. He was hampered by a high ankle sprain for a bit last year, and needs to clean up the 17.4% missed tackle rate — but all signs are pointing to a 3-down role for the electric sophomore out of Notre Dame.
Other notes:
1. He was the “first defender to contact” at the eight-highest rate among all off-ball linebackers in 2021.
2. He ranked fifth among that group in positively graded run play rate, helping him to a 74.4 PFF grade that ranked ninth.
How are we valuing him moving forward? LB2 with LB1 upside or is that too much?
