Jeremy Shockey rushed to hospital (1 Viewer)

NFL star Jeremy Shockey was taken out of the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas by stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital. Sources at the hotel tell TMZ Shockey was at Rehab -- the ironic name of the Sunday pool party at the Hard Rock -- when he was found unconscious at around 2:00 PM. The call went out to the Las Vegas Fire Department and he was taken out via stretcher. Paramedics tried to cover him up so onlookers -- including a TV camera crew -- couldn't ID him.
Hate to think the obvious things ,bad ice cube perhaps?

I've passed out at the pool there. :banned: Just before that I was like this lookin at the chix and the waitresses. :excited:
My friend is one of the waitresses there and she says there are crazy amounts of drugs being done right out in the open. I'm not saying Shockey was doing anything illegal, but there is a possibility. I hope not (fantasy owner).

mortreportI am reporting on ESPN that Saints say Jeremy Shockey is out of brief stay in Las Vegas hospital after a bout of dehydration.less than a minute ago

mortreport Saints official says Shockey was at party around Beach Club Pool, Hard Rock Cafe, with several NFL players there. He is OK. ESPN & ESPN.com

I suppose I'll be the first to say I hope the guy's ok...no matter the cause I don't wish a trip to the hospital on anyone other than "jihadist"

to be fair a lot of booze + high heat could've dehydrated Shockey so much that he passed out
:goodposting: He was just having a good time in Vegas and got his drink on a bit too much in the sun. Not a big deal. I'll be pissed if the NFL gets involved and tries to slap a fine on him or something.

Whomever drafts Shockey in my draft is a clear indicator of suckage. He will never focus his full attention on football. Its sad because if he did, he could be a Tony Gonzales. His name will always precede his talent

Seriously, somebody in one league picked up Billy Miller
Billy Miller outscored Shockey last year. And yes, that includes when you average it out per game. I'm just sayin'.
Shockey switched teams, had surgery during the middle of the season and still ended up with 50 receptions and 483 yards.
Buy low time.
Yep, there's always an excuse for him.If you could actually get him cheaply (like anywhere near what his production over the past couple of years would put him) I might consider picking him up. But there are way too many guys out there who still think he's a top 4/5 type guy for that to happen. My opinion is that he's a slightly above average (starting NFL) talent but has injury and character issues that drop his value considerably.2002 NYG 15 127 74 894 12.1 22003 NYG 9 70 48 535 11.1 22004 NYG 15 95 61 666 10.9 6 2005 NYG 15 122 65 891 13.7 72006 NYG 15 115 66 623 9.4 72007 NYG 14 93 57 619 10.9 32008 NO 12 72 50 483 9.7 0In a 7 year career, he's never had more than 7 TDs, never had a full season, and never broke 900 yards, despite a ton of opportunity for the most part. His only truly excellent season was in '05. All the others have been "meh". The Giants decided he really wasn't worth the trouble any more, and I basically concur. It's just always something with this guy, and he DOESN'T have the outrageous talent to make up for it.

This is where I fall on Shockey. I see owners taking him as TE1 and I would prefer Miller as my TE2. I cannot imagine the distraction will be welcomed again. And, it was reported a while ago that Shockey wants a new deal. Hard to take that too seriously, but he seems like a guy that will always be a thorn in management's side. I expect Miller to be the value play ... while I let someone else take/worry about Shockey.

He is such a  and as it has already been said, there is always some excuse and he is slowing down at this point. Only buy very low, otherwise don't bother with the frustration.

I know this thread sort of made light of Billy Miller....I don't think you can. It's clear they have a guy ready to take Shockey's job for a lot cheaper if he so much as gets a splinter and starts missing time this year.

I think Billy Miller is going to be the starting TE there sooner than later....

:loco: Billy Miller is four years older than Shockey. His best season was in 2002. And Shockey has had better numbers than Miller every year but last year. If Miller was the answer NO never would have signed Shockey.
