Jerious Norwood = Warrick Dunn? (1 Viewer)

It would appear that the Falcons will be grooming Jerious Norwood to take over for Dunn who is getting up in age for a RB. What is your take on Norwood being successful in Dunn's role with the Falcons? This is from Bloom's rookie 100:

Norwood=Speed - Willie parker-type who could pay off in the right situation. Norwood had a terrific combine and really put himself in the 2nd tier RB mix. I still don’t see him as an everydown back, but Norwood has shown that he is every bit the athlete as the other 2nd tier backs

I think he's a project. His height/weight is worse than Bush and what bulk he does have is more in his upper body. Unless he builds his legs, he's likely little more than a special teams player.

Duckett is in the final year of his contract. I keep saying odds are good he'll be playing elsewhere next year. Atlanta's future starting tailback probably isnt on the roster yet.

I think this is a guy you stash on your roster and give him a mulligan for year 1 to see how he adjusts to the pro game. He definitely has the potential to be a good NFL RB, but we'll have to see how he fills out his body.

I believe he could be their feature back in '07.

I doubt it. The biggest knock on the guy is that he can't block. Duckett had the same problem when the Falcons drafted him, and I don't think he's gotten much better. You would think that blocking would be pretty easy to teach, but  Plus he runs upright like Chris Brown. He'll be hurt more than Duckett.

How's Norwood's blocking so far? I haven't had a chance to see much of him but his numbers are outstanding.
