Jerome Harrison (1 Viewer)

Jerome Harrison is my super sleeper pick for the season. I thought he would be an absolute stud when he was at washington st., and I don't see the Browns current rb depth as holding him down for long. In March, Bloom had him rated as the 12th best prospect in the draft:

"12. Jerome Harrison, RB, Washington St.– Jerome’s a productive, small, elusive back but he lacks breakaway speed. He overcame some doubts about his size at the Senior Bowl weigh-in with tremendous work on the final drive of the game. Harrison’s 40 time was good, and his all important 10 and 20 yard times were among the top of the class at the combine. His quickness drills were the best among RBs tested and backed up his reputation as an extremely shifty back. He did not work out at his pro day.

Upside: Tiki Barber

Downside: J.J. Arrington"

While his fall to the 5th round was unfortunate and somewhat surprising for him, what do you all feel his long term potential is? I'll be honest, there were times this past season I thought i was watching Priest Holmes. Granted, he's still an unproven rookie, but as a prospect I thought he was arguably as good as any rb not named Bush or DeAngelo in the draft. Now maybe that is going overboard just a little, but you truly have to watch him play to appreciate the talent. I thought the Browns got a great player that late.

Tell me after watching these highlights that you aren't impressed:

No opinions on Harrison? I guess I'll be the one driving this bandwagon alone. Remember, you heard it here first :)

I love this guy! I know he is "small" but he has great moves and instincts. He runds hard and is a tough guy for his size. If Droughns falters, I think he will take his chance and run with it.

With a pretty solid OL, Adrian Peterson went 23-84 against the Oregon Ducks. A couple games before that Harrison went 28-143 with a lesser line. ASU and Stanford had two of the Pac 10s better run Ds and he put 219 and 240 on them. He would have put 200 on USC if not for being abandoned in a blow out. Several quality backs faced those same defenses with significantly lesser production, Mike Bell, Marshawn Lynch, Terrence Whitehead, and they had better lines. I'm not saying Harrison is better than Peterson or Lynch, but the numbers sure get intriguing. Solid backs falling to the second day are not unusual, and with this unusually deep draft it's no reason to discount those who do. There's a handful of NFL teams who are solid running the ball that will be in the market for late round RBs. For Harrison, it is all about an opprotunity he may or may not get.
I can't wait until preseason to see this guy in action
