Jersey numbers the rookies will wear... (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
RAIDER ROOKIES, from Raiders.com

#24 - Michael Huff

#53 - Thomas Howard

#79 - Paul McQuistan

#59 - Darnell Bing

Bing's jersey number seems to answer the question as to which position he'll play. It appears he will move from his safety position at USC to the weakside LB spot in Oakland.

I don't have time to check all 32 team sites, so if you guys could do me a favor and post the numbers of the rooks from your favorite team, I'd appreciate it. Don't bother with the late round picks if you don't feel like it. I'm mainly interested in the digits of the players who will definitely make the opening day squad.

From Seahawkshuddle.com/Seattle Times:"Here are current jersey numbers for a few of the other new Seahawks, draft picks and free agents: Jennings, No. 21; safety Mike Green, No. 32; Tapp, No. 55; defensive tackle Russell Davis, No. 95; linebacker Julian Peterson, No. 44; fullback David Kirtman, No. 34; offensive lineman Tom Ashworth, No. 68; offensive guard Rob Sims, No. 67.

Peterson was No. 98 at San Francisco and said he switched to 44, his old junior-college number, in case he is needed at defensive back. Kick returner Josh Scobey switched from No. 39 to No. 33. "

Any chance teams do not assign numbers right away? I have looked on all of the websites I use for Patriot news, and there was nothing on shirt numbers except for Gramatica being assigned #7.

I will keep looking though....

Wow, they gave him Sam "Bam" Cunningham's number....It's really hard to look fast wearing certain numbers, and #39 is one of 'em.

Edit: except for FAST WILLIE PARKER.... :D
Heh I agree even though numbers obviously don't really matter. 22 on the other hand is a pretty fast looking number and everytime I envisioned him a Pats uni that's the number I imagined him in. Who has that number, Samuel?

Santonio Holmes: #10
Does he realize...... umm..... nevermind.
He's been a Steelers fan since he was a kid, so I have to think he does. That's why the  -- GB having the guts to go out and reclaim a number that's now tainted in the eyes of many Steelers fans.

Yes, Samuel is #22.Maroney on picking No. 39: “They gave me a list of numbers. I knew number 22 was gone [to Asante Samuel] and my next choice was number [Ellis Hobbs’] 27. It’s a new number for me, but like I said, the number doesn’t make me, you make the number.”

Yep. I never thought #30 looked all that good on a RB until T.D. ripped it up.

On his choice of his shirt number (10), Holmes commented, “It’s a best fit number. A great number to wear.” Kordell Stewart wore it last, correct?

Correct -- Kordell Stewart wore #10 for the Steelers from 1995 - 2002.
