That was my favorite too - how the hell did they miss that one! Also loved Kiper's - "obviously the JEts have no understanding of how the draft works!"The best is the crowd chanting "we want Sapp" and Tags announcing Kyle Brady.
Absolutely fantastic.
Better than the fan defending the orginizations decision to pass on Dan Marino? The best is the crowd chanting "we want Sapp" and Tags announcing Kyle Brady.
Absolutely fantastic.
Worst part is they could have added another 20 minutes!Browning Nagle one spot after Favrethis was SOOOO painful.

If you'll remember, every Jets fan at that draft wanted Leeland McElroy, RB from A&M. Their reaction was hilarious. Its even funnier now that both were huge busts.Worst part is they could have added another 20 minutes!Browning Nagle one spot after Favrethis was SOOOO painful.

I was in Vegas for that draft with a bunch of Jet fans and remember it well - remember sleeping for about an hour before the Keyshawn pick....Don't remember any Jet fans wanting McElroy BUT, the LAST THING ON EARTH Jet fans wanted in my memory was ANOTHER WR...If you'll remember, every Jets fan at that draft wanted Leeland McElroy, RB from A&M. i forget which pick, if it was lageman or brady, but one of the crowd noises didn't even sound like a distinct boo... it was more like a shrill, inhuman cry of pain... like a bellowing animal caught in a trap...

...MARCUS VICK!Just hope Jets don't add to the highlight list in April....with the 4th pick in the NFL Draft.....the New York Jets select......
I can't remember the last time the Jets drafted a players as good as McNabb... maybe John Abraham?![]()

Finally got it to work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZxNe...h=jets%20draft
Jet fans get ripped for this stuff a lot but, they are usually 1 or 2 in Draft Day attendance and plenty of other teams have made some picks that would send fans in a tizzy - How about if the draft was in Minnesota the past few years or Detroit...
Also - You gotta give Jet fans their Props "We want Sapp We want Sapp" Well, they were 100% Correct!!! They obviously Wanted Marino - And they were correct again.
It's not the Jet fans fault that the organization has had so many shockingly stupid picks - Hey, even the announcers groaned at every pick WITH the Jet fans...
Not like they're the Philly fans who BOO'D Mcnabb and now he's a Star in the league.. Can we even name a player that Jet fans Boo'd that turned out real good or as good as Mcnabb????
Exactly...![]()

I can't remember the last time the Jets drafted a players as good as McNabb... maybe John Abraham?
Jet fans get a bad rap for being a bit emotional on Draft day BUT, obviously they were pretty much on the ball with their BOO'ing as opposed to Philly fans, then again, didn't they Boo Santa?
Funniest thing I've read in years.i forget which pick, if it was lageman or brady, but one of the crowd noises didn't even sound like a distinct boo... it was more like a shrill, inhuman cry of pain... like a bellowing animal caught in a trap...
a little defensive. Nobody is ripping the Jets fans right now just there picks. It is the fact that the fans knew better that makes it funny. Their plight is why we are laughing, take it easy buddy.Exactly...![]()

I suppose you could say there was a brief glimmer of light under Parcells and later Edwards, the trip to the AFC Championship Game with Vinny, hammering Peyton and the Colts in the playoffs as Pennington exploded onto the scene, nearly beating the Steelers in the playoffs, some relatively productive drafts...That having been said the dark ages are well and truly back upon us!When exactly did the dark era end?
Aside from two years where the team lost its QB - the last 9 yrs of Jet football has been the best in its history. When I say dark ages as a Jet fan I think: Joe Walton, Bruce Coslet, Pete Carroll and **** Kotitie."The dark era revisited"
When exactly did the dark era end?
Not playing devil's advocate here but Joe Walton started off 10-1 in 1986.When I say dark ages as a Jet fan I think: Joe Walton, Bruce Coslet, Pete Carroll and **** Kotitie.
i've watched the draft at baker's house past two years... when they rolled the jets draft "highlights" through the years, i thought i heard something funny the first time around, & we must have played it back 3-4 times...Funniest thing I've read in years.i forget which pick, if it was lageman or brady, but one of the crowd noises didn't even sound like a distinct boo... it was more like a shrill, inhuman cry of pain... like a bellowing animal caught in a trap...![]()
And he finished in the most agonizing fashion even for the Jets - losing the last 5 and completely blowing a divisional playoff game! It was all downhill after 10-1.Joe Must Go!!!Not playing devil's advocate here but Joe Walton started off 10-1 in 1986.When I say dark ages as a Jet fan I think: Joe Walton, Bruce Coslet, Pete Carroll and **** Kotitie.
"The Jets I came to write about," Eskenazi observes, "were like life as Kafka or George Carlin might have pictured it--only more so. They led an existence based in the everyday reality so many of us faced, one of small victories offset by large losses."
Great read - funny subtitle - "An irreverent look behind the scenes at 38 (well 37) seasons of New York Jet football futility"Deflated green Jets football on the cover. There's a great book about this, GANG GREEN by Gerald Eskenazi
Nahh.... In general Jet fans are discussed for the draft day reactions with the draft in NYC - I'm just pointing out the irony that they were pretty much had reason for their reactions.Nothing to be defensive about - I actually think it's funny - hence thea little defensive. Nobody is ripping the Jets fans right now just there picks. It is the fact that the fans knew better that makes it funny. Their plight is why we are laughing, take it easy buddy.
