Jets and former Patriots (1 Viewer)

2QsWhy do they seem to always take ex-pats be it coaches or players? Since they're a rival, doesn't that move seem odd to you?(If you're a jet fan) Wouldn't you prefer a player or coach from elsewhere? Does it bug ya they're former Pats?Any other teams seem to do something similar with another team IE Pack always taking Vikes or Bears always taking Bucs etc?

I'd say the Pats take just as much from the Jets. Remember, Belichick resigned from being Jets HC and then went to coach NE. Ex-Jets that went to NE the past five years:

Bill Belichick

Roman Pfifer

Fred Coleman

Bryan Cox

Bobby Hamilton

Anthony Pleasant

Otis Smith

Jermaine Wiggins

Victor Green

Ex-Pats that went to the Jets the past 10 years:

Bill Parcells

Curtis Martin

Otis Smith

Eric Mangini

Ty Law

The Dolphins also have joined in -- Bernie Parmalee, Ray Lucas, Dedric Ward, Larry Izzo, Robert Edwards.

There's a lot of sharing among these three teams. With Saban/Belichick/Mangini in the mix, I don't look for that to decrease anytime soon.

There seems to be a trend there.... not just in the AFC East, it seems to me, while I have no data to support this, that teams within divisions seem to pick up other players within the division, usually of the second tier type. Maybe it's a result of watching game films?
