I'm a Saints homer and I'm rolling with the Jets this week. I don't think they'll do very well, but I'm not dropping someone to pick up a second D until I have to for their bye.
I don't generally advocate chasing points with defenses and kickers. It's just too hard to predict those positions, so nowadays I usually just get a good one and plug 'em in every week.
Yes, next week when they get Pace back. He's their playmaker. Not only have they missed Pace for four weeks, they've been without their 2nd and 3rd CBs. Once the defense is at full strength (MNF next week versus the Dolphins), watch out.
A word of caution to Jets DST owners. After riding high on Philadelphia's week one performance, (they led my FF team with a 47 point tally)...and knowing that New Orleans would be a tough matchup in week #2, I started Philly against them anyway.
Won week #2 by a single point despite Phily DST's negative 2 (-2) total. Would have been better off starting no one. I still think I have a gem in Philly's DST and look at their schedule going forward.
I was overconfident in my top DST. If there are other options, don't be afraid to drop a reserve you have a man crush on. If you end up losing by a point because you gave up a position, you will regret it.
