Jimmy Graham injury (1 Viewer)

My backup is Gronk who I thought for sure would be ready for week7... so going to have to drop him........ who would have ever thought having both Gronk and Graham would become a problem....

Sorry for the misquoted link, PFTs fault, not mine. But still, my apologies.

Updating an earlier item, Jimmy Graham is getting a Monday MRI on his foot, not his knee.
As we suspected, the earlier report was just a typo. Nevertheless, it's still not great news, as any sort of foot sprain could sideline Graham for multiple weeks. If the MRI comes back negative, however, there's a good chance Graham will be ready to roll following the Saints' Week 7 bye. Stay tuned.

Jimmy Graham will only miss one week with a foot/ankle sprain. This is perfect for the #Saints, who have a bye in week seven anyway.
Why not add the rest of that conversation?

@georgedarsaklis this is great news, but per whom? The Saints FO is always tight-lipped re injuries.

George Darsaklis ‏@georgedarsaklis 1h

@Zarelli So wasn't serious enough for him to miss the rest of the game. Usually a week for these injuries I'd be surprised if he misses W7.

@georgedarsaklis also, when the cameras got close to him as he walked away, he brushed them aside. Not a good sign. Hope I'm wrong.

@Zarelli Haha, he should be good. He's the best TE in football right now, we need him in!

In other words, George has no clue and is just guessing.
who is george, and why should we care what he thinks?

A league source tells Profootballtalk.com Jimmy Graham is undergoing a Monday MRI on his knee.
Was a misprint. Was supposed to say knee. Jene Bramel tweeted that the mechanism didn't look like anything related to a Lis Franc. Not that he can say for sure obviously but it's something for worried Graham owners to hang their hats on for now.

every foot injury is a potential lis franc, and also a potentially minor foot sprain. i'll wait and see thanks...

What's with all the panic? Getting an MRI is normal procedure after an injury like this.

Let's wait for the results before we're going Lis' way...

Graham injured it initially on the jump on the overthrow pick that Brees threw near the end. He hobbled off on one leg after that play. Very concerned that he couldn't finish despite his desire to do so.

Interesting to see what Graham owners in general have to trot out there...for example, in the one league I have him, I have Julius Thomas as his backup. Another league I am in the Graham owner also has Thomas. Decent chance many of the Graham owners are backing him up with Jordan Cameron/Julius Thomas or even a Charles Clay and may not be in as bad of shape as it would seem.
Dynasty league - Graham owner has Housler/ Fauria

Redraft league - Graham owner has Rudolph

My CSB: It's funny because I've owned JT, JC, and now Graham this season. Drafted Cameron, bid on JT and got him after week 1, but traded JC away for Gio Bernard after week 2. Then, last week I packaged JT and a running back for Graham and DT. Bottom line, I should have stayed put when both JT and JC were on my roster. I now have Charles Clay as a backup, fwiw. Hope the injury isn't serious enough to keep Graham out too long.

Have Graham backed up by Gates - Also had Julius Thomas but traded him

Is this the thread where everyone wildly speculates about stuff they know nothing about? Just wanted to make sure I was in the right place before I went all Chicken Little.

It's a bye week so thing will be pretty quiet fo a while I bet.

Zach Strief was walking around in wrap-boot on Wednesday but it wasn't until Sunday we heard he would be out.

Hey can everyone list their backup TE in here?
Like any real FBG I backed him up with Gronk, figuring its likely that Gronk would be back by the week 7 bye.Of course, knowing Gronk has issues, I also have Cameron and just in case, J Thomas.

I might use my Jedi mind tricks to get Gates now though. Ya know, just to be safe. It's how championships happen.

When he gets back (hopefully soon), does every defense going forward take a cue from the Pats' playbook, and put their best cover corner on him? Talib completely shut him down. In fairness, there are only a few corners playing on Talib's level right now, but I'm wondering if defenses will give it a shot anyway.

About the only thing that's worked this year, so, yeah, I expect we'll see a lot more of this, though I could also see a bit more of the double LB mash at the line as well.

Noticed that the young rookie Hill went in after Jimmy went down. Cecil spoke about him in some Audible podcast a time ago. Might roster him in very deep dynasty league if Graham is somewhat of a "durability concern".

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports there's a "sense of optimism" Jimmy Graham (foot) won't miss any time and will play in Week 8 following the Saints' Week 7 bye.
Graham's left foot is still being evaluated, but it appears he's avoided a serious injury. He'll have two weeks to rest up for the Bills. Graham was cleared to reenter Sunday's game against the Patriots. Buffalo has allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends through six weeks. Graham will still be locked in as the No. 1 tight end play no matter who he plays.
