Jimmy Graham "Uncertain" for Week 8 (1 Viewer)

Deja va all over again...like last season, Jimmy Graham is coming out of the bye uncertain to play:

Shefter via Rotoworld:

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jimmy Graham (foot) is "uncertain" for Week 8 against Buffalo.
If the Saints were in action on Sunday, it reportedly "would have been difficult" for Graham to suit up. It sounds like he has some kind of minor sprain that isn't a long-term concern, but is still in discomfort. With the Saints at 5-1 and Graham such an integral part of the offense, he certainly won't be rushed. Veteran Ben Watson is Graham's direct backup.

Bump Colston.... I know this sounds funny but it's true... When Graham is out or limited it seems Colston puts up BIG numbers.

Bump sproles and the Saints rbs. Not a good sign for Graham if they already are saying stuff like this

Yeah. Reminds me very much of last year. He's either not going to play or they're going to use him as a decoy. Of course, we need to not jump to conclusions but it's certainly discouraging to see news like this leaking, although I can't say it's surprising based on what we saw.

Typical silly Rotoworld comment.

could probably get a way with sitting him at the very least this week (bills home) and possibly the one after (jets away) before they have a conference game against the cowboys.

Just ask Miami or New England.
saints are much better then both of those teams offensively.. plus being at home for the saints is quite the advantage..

I'd think they want him 100% before the stretch run then rushing him back

As much as I'd love to play him this week, just the fact that he's "uncertain" for this week is pretty good news, given some of the speculation that was flying around after he got hurt last week. Sounds like he might be close. I wouldn't even mind all that much if he missed the Buffalo game if it means he's close to full strength for week 9.

If you have a decent option as your back up TE, I vote let him rest another week or two, I want him healthy for the playoffs. Most leagues where I own him I have a pretty good jump on everyone so I would prefer he be at 100%. Ben Watson is not a bad idea if you own Graham, bye weeks are over and Watson can still produce if he is called upon.

I saw Jordan Reed on the WW in a couple of my local beer bar leagues, I can't really roster him but there are options out there. Let him get back to full strength.

I hope the Saints see how rushing back from injury has worked for White, Spiller, Fitz, etc, and let him rest until 100%.

My thoughts to a T - As much is it would hurt to not have Jimmy in the lineup this week, I'd rather he come back 100% a week later.

FWIW, it helps that it's the 1PM game. We'll see early if he's active.
Unfortunately he is not needed for the Saints to pummel the Bills at home. He may be out there less than normal and not catch but a few passes.

It's pretty bad when your TEs are Graham and Cameron and you wish you could start someone else.

if he does play i think he will be a decoy like calvin was his first game back. im making a play for reed to start, as insurance.

Colston is finally gonna have that multi TD 150 yard game everyone has been waiting for and I am not a wishful Colston owner.

pins and needles. I really hope this isn't some lingering BS

ETA: I should clarify, I have heard nothing about "pins and needles' describing jimmy graham's injury; I am on pins and needles waiting for news about JG. step back from the ledge.

Ben Watson despite what others are saying about the bad matchup, is my choice pickup this week. Perfect 11:30 AM Sunday Morning insurance. He's got as likely a chance at a cheap score as any comparable TE waiver wire option available now.

I'd view Watson as a Top 10 TE this week if he started.

I'm more concerned about his overall health, like I care how Jimmy is doing. :)

I'd say just about every Jimmy owner is concerned that this isn't a lingering issue... I really hope the Saints shed a little light on what WAS wrong (wishful thinking)

Please be a good update, I don't want to roll out Scott Chandler or Ben Watson this weekend.
You Graham owners are spoiled. Go read thru the Gronk multi-surgery thread to get a feel for real suffering.
I own both
Gronk owners knew going into the season that he would be shelved for a while. Plus he was drafted at least 2 rounds rounds later if not more. Jimmy is my bread and butter.

Jimmy Graham (foot) did not practice Wednesday.
"Each day we'll just take a peak on how he's progressing and be smart about it," coach Sean Payton said. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday that Graham was "uncertain" to play in Week 8 against the Bills. We're not likely to learn much about his Sunday status until later in the week. Graham owners need to have other tight end options in place. Ben Watson is Graham's backup in New Orleans.

#### - He is def going to be out this week... If this was a flex, who would be better pickup - Stills/Watson?

If he's not right, I'm hoping he just sits till he's ready. I don't need the points of a Graham at 50% of his elite playing level or even 80%. He can sit out a few weeks for all I care. Just want him ready to beast in the fantasy playoffs.
