Just a bit of insight from a draft I had last night.
I had the 12th pick in a ppr redraft league. RBs went quickly (which kind of surprised me) and I didn't want to take a QB that early. So I went Andre and Calvin Johnson back-to-back at the 1.12 & 2.1 spot. The following round I of course needed to get a running back so I went P. Thomas and J. Addai.
Addai, to be honest, scares the crap out of me, so, even though Donald Brown's ADP is in the 80's, I ended up taking him at 6.01 or the 61st pick in the draft.
I did this for several reasons.
1. I would have had to wait another 23 more picks until it was my turn again. Would Brown have been available at the 84th pick?
2. There are very few handcuffs this year that I feel you have to have, Addai & Brown are one of them.
3. There was no way in hell I was going to let some other owner make my Addai pick mute. I HAD TO GET BROWN.
So if you are in a similar position, just remember, if you are targeting Addai or he is simply the best player available for your particular pick, in order to solidify your RB2, you may have to sacrifice an early pick to get his handcuff. If you are not willing to take Brown early, I suggest you stay away from Addai. I also noticed that carrying this extra back has severely limited my depth at RB. I was only able to draft two more viable backups in D. Rhodes and Caddy Williams. When most everyone was drafting depth at RB, i had to make up for that Brown pick and get a starting QB (McNabb) and fish for a WR3.

Son, an old performer's credo - never admit your mistakes. You meant to do that because it's funny. Right?
