Just a bit of insight from a draft I had last night.

I had the 12th pick in a ppr redraft league. RBs went quickly (which kind of surprised me) and I didn't want to take a QB that early. So I went Andre and Calvin Johnson back-to-back at the 1.12 & 2.1 spot. The following round I of course needed to get a running back so I went P. Thomas and J. Addai.

Addai, to be honest, scares the crap out of me, so, even though Donald Brown's ADP is in the 80's, I ended up taking him at 6.01 or the 61st pick in the draft.

I did this for several reasons.

1. I would have had to wait another 23 more picks until it was my turn again. Would Brown have been available at the 84th pick?

2. There are very few handcuffs this year that I feel you have to have, Addai & Brown are one of them.

3. There was no way in hell I was going to let some other owner make my Addai pick mute. I HAD TO GET BROWN.

So if you are in a similar position, just remember, if you are targeting Addai or he is simply the best player available for your particular pick, in order to solidify your RB2, you may have to sacrifice an early pick to get his handcuff. If you are not willing to take Brown early, I suggest you stay away from Addai. I also noticed that carrying this extra back has severely limited my depth at RB. I was only able to draft two more viable backups in D. Rhodes and Caddy Williams. When most everyone was drafting depth at RB, i had to make up for that Brown pick and get a starting QB (McNabb) and fish for a WR3.

I don't see Addai and Brown as a handcuff situation. They are both going to play. Would you feel a need to get both Leon Washington and Thomas Jones? It starts to get expensive.

I also drafted Addai at 6.1 in a PPR redraft. I don't have Brown, but I'm not overly concerned. Addai will get 60-70% of the work from everything I've read and heard. And even if its a 50/50 split, in that offense, he's still a fine starting #3 RB in a PPR league.

Never mind that "moot" means the opposite of what most people think.
How so? I suspect when most people use it they mean it as the bolded definition below:
* Main Entry: moot

* Function: adjective

* Date: circa 1587

1 a : open to question : debatable b : subjected to discussion : disputed

2 : deprived of practical significance : made abstract or purely academic

I thought I would find useful info in this thread. Guess I was wrong. :confused:

Does anyone have any new opinions regarding the comparison of production from both Indy RBs?

Just remember...all draft boards are based off of three things, rookies coming in, situational changes, and last years results. Also remember that conventional wisdom is a great big FAIL in the end concerning fantasy football. I recently took a look at our draft from last year and the first four rounds looked like a minefield of garbage!!!!

Of course, at the time everyone thought their picks were great. Addai is probably going to have an awesome year...I would not have taken Brown n the sixth.

Poor logic alert!Having both Addai and Brown does not "solidify your RB2". You may very well end up with two guys that split carries all year, making neither startable as a RB2.What's that classic phrase? If you think you've got 2 starting QBs, you actually have none?
