Joe Flacco @ Hou (1 Viewer)

I know to take these things with a grain of salt. But this week's ranking for Flacco at Houston just has me puzzled (especially since I have him in one league, and was thinking of starting him). Houston is a fairly neutral passing matchup, and the loss of Diles can only help that. Flacco has been solid recently. I just don't see how that adds to ranking as low as he does. Even behind guys like Seneca Wallace (@Mia), Culpepper (Jax), and JaMarcus Russell (Car). Is there something I'm missing?

Probably cause he's on the road. Flacco was rated very low against CLE too.

I don't really think losing Diles changes a great deal for opposing QBs.

Just because he's on your squad doesn't mean he's supposed to get fantastic projections each week. He's still a rookie. The end.

At Home in 4 games opposing QBs vs Hou are averaging 237yds 1.35TD and 1int. Thats about 13-15 fantasy points in a standard league.

The past 4 games Flacco is averaging 215yds w/ 4tds 3int

On the road in 4 games this year Flacco is averaging 228yds w/ 4TD 3INt.

So you see hes pretty right on with what Houston is giving up.

FBG projects him for 175yds .9 PTD and 1nit for 12 fantasy points.

I don't think their projection is that far off...

I know to take these things with a grain of salt.
Hope this helps

 Nowhere did I suggest he should get "fantastic" projections  "He's still a rookie ... the end" is a rather close-minded blanket statement. I just thought it looked harsh that he's ranked dead last (which none of the other fantasy ranking sites I've seen has done), behind some truly awful guys. Certainly his 1st 5 games of the season were pretty bad, while the last 3 were surprisingly good. I guess if you don't buy the last 3 games as being real improvement, I could understand a horrible week 10 ranking. I suppose I had a ranking of around 17-21 in mind, even taking into account the limitations of the matchup, and was just wondering if there were other factors I overlooked. I know normally you wouldn't like to think about starting a guy like Flacco, but injuries and byes in a deep league sometimes means you have to make the best choice of sub-par options.

Not sure why everyone's jumping on the OP. The cheatsheets are great and FBG staff are the very best, but IMO, rookie QBs tend to get rated lower than necessary in the cheatsheets "just because" they are rookies. The first few weeks of the season, Matt Ryan was where Flacco is now, down at the bottom, even though it was already becoming clear that Ryan is no run-of-the-mill rookie QB. I suspect that Flacco will also rise up the charts as he continues to gain respect. But I don't see any justification for Flacco being rated lower than some of the guys ahead of him this week (e.g., JaMarcus, Seneca Wallace, etc). I also think people tend to get on their high horses a little too often here in the shark pool. Can't we all just get along? My two cents.

If you look at the projections, i.e passing yards and pass TDs, the difference in expected ranking and actual rankings is minimal

Go with your gut. Why do you think the results of rankings are never posted.
