Close, but it actually was Bill Parcells last year who refused to shake hands with Gibbs after the Skins trounced the Cowboys 35-7. Gibbs ran across the field to shake hands with him and Parcells just walked the other way.

Redman, that game was 2 years ago, and at least he shook hands with parcells. Parcells didn't even acknowledge gibbs after the skins trounced them in DC last year.

No you're right, it was this season. I can't recall teh game either, but it definately happened. DaTruth

Well, for what it's worth I've watched every redskins game in the last 3 years, for better or for worse, and the only instances I can remember a snubbing is the 21-18 loss 2 years ago as mentioned by redman and the 35-7 win in washington last year when parcells snubbed gibbs. So I beg to differ that it "definately happened" this year.
Actually i think it was a pre-season game and teh announcer even mentioned it. He said something to the effect that Gibbs is competitive by nature and he hates losing. It might have been against the Jets this year. He never went up to shake Eric Mangini's hand and that's when the announcer said it. DaTruth

I'm not saying it didn't happen, but, from what I've seen all these many years of watching Gibbs, it would be totally against character for him to do that.

I think you're right - I remember that from the Jets game too.It's a very anamolous part of Gibbs' nature, given that he's widely regarded as a honest, decent and honorable man, and a man of faith, that his competitive side can cause him to act what can only be regarded as coldly or even rude towards his peers and to come off as a sore loser. No, I don't excuse it but I think it speaks to the level of intensity that rests inside him which often gets lost behind that nice and even corny personality of his.

I hate Parcells and love Gibbs as much as anyone here, but that's not entirely accurate. After the game, Gibbs began walking towards Parcells. They looked at eachother and Gibbs, knowing Parcells would rather just go to the lockerroom, motioned to Parcells that it was okay to not shake hands. It appeared they did not shake hands. Gibbs was asked about it for a few days after the game. IIRC, he said he completely understood and didn't think he was being snubbed. In fact, I believe he said they did end up shaking hands at some point, it just wasn't caught on camera.

That's not DaTruth. You're totally making that up. I watched that game and don't recall any mention of that whatsoever. Besides, why would he be so pissed at losing the 2nd preseason game that he'd refuse to shake mangini's hand. With all due respect, I highly doubt that WarEagle is talking about the jets game seeing as it wasn't even a nationally televised preseason game. The whole Parcells debacle was much, much more publicized.

Yeah, I have no idea.I was having an arguement today and threw it out there....."Remember when Gibbs ran off the field crying and didn't shake the other coaches hand after the game?"The guy called me out on it and for the life of me I can not remember where I remember that from.I DO NOT spit out false stories, so I'm desperately trying to figure out if and when this happened before owning up to being wrong.With that said....the example from 2 years ago will be enough for me to back it up with.It's still bugging the #$^* out of me....because I could have swore it happened THIS year.

Yea I remember gibbs saying that at the press conference the next day. The fact of the matter is this thread was started with someone asking if gibbs pouted and refused to shake hands with another coach. I think no matter how you shake it, it was parcells pouting and refusing to shake hands with Gibbs. Even if was understood between the both of them that Parcells would have rather gone to the locker room. That's just it, he preferred going to the locker room over shaking hands with Gibbs.Also, what did you expect gibbs to say? "yea, the ******* snubbed me"? Anyways, who cares what gibbs had to say.
