And he dominated Jones. Not sure that's a good sign for either the Dolphins (Porter in trouble) or the Bengals (Jones gets whooped).

Ah, Joey Porter. Always the class act.
I was thinking the same thing. He was the 1 player I thought was actually "dirty" on the Steelers and now he is gone and I can't bash Steeler fans for him being on the team. Seriously, I'm surprised he hasn't had more fights considering his demeanor. I'm surprised more guys haven't gone after him. He might be the biggest trash talker of alltime.

 Glad he waited until he left Pittsburgh to do this.

Good to see he still doesn't like the Bengals, tho.

Per an e-mail from a reader who claims to have witnessed the incident, "They started talking ####, Joey Porter saying he'll always be a Steeler. He showed off the Super Bowl ring and Jones got up to him, and Joey Porter pretty much kicked his ### . . . . Jones never got a shot in."
The Dolphins have to love that Porter says that he'll always be a Steeler. Way to overpay a bigmouth overated turd Miami. :goodposting:

Jones: Also robbed

Jones

Although a police report won’t be filed until Friday, Bengals left tackle Levi Jones was not only allegedly punched by Joey Porter Sunday night in a Las Vegas casino but he also told police he was robbed in the attack.

The Bengals said Monday that Jones has no serious injuries after police confirmed he had facial cuts.

Officer Martin Wright of the Vegas police said Monday that Jones said he had some jewelry stolen in an incident that apparently has roots in on-field trash talking that goes back several years.

Some sources indicated Monday that as many as seven people, including Porter, were involved in an attack of Jones, but police wouldn’t confirm the report and said they were attempting to find out if the incident is on tape.

“If it’s on tape, I would imagine it would be part of the report,” Wright said. “There were other people there. All we know is that when we arrived at the scene we heard there were words and one guy hit another guy and the victim wanted to press charges.”

The altercation is stil being sorted out by all sides. Wright said it began with words at a gaming table and finished with a confrontation in the parking lot. Police cited Porter for misdemeanor battery after he allegedly punched Jones in the face.

Kenny Zuckerman, Jones’ agent, had no comment on the incident or his client’s condition. Porter's agent, Jeff Sperbeck, was unavailabe for comment.

Porter, who had half a sack in the Steelers’ last five games against the Bengals, has had many on-field words with Jones, the man that blocked him on many of those plays.

Porter signed a five-year, $32 million deal with Miami last week after the Bengals thought they had set up a visit with the Pro Bow linebacker. Jones and many Bengals have spent the past few Steeler games jawing with Porter. In 2005, one of their games began with Porter and wide receiver Chad Johnson trash talking at midfield just before the kickoff.

According to the Bengals statement, the incident has apparently not affected Jones’ surgically-repaired knee. The cartilage injury knocked him out of eight games and forced him to the sidelines for the second half of the season finale against the Steelers.

Last month head coach Marvin Lewis said Jones could undergo another surgery that wouldn’t prevent him from reporting to training camp on time. The club hasn't confirmed if he had the procedure.

Porter surfaced in Miami for the first day of offseason workouts for the Dolphins Monday. The Bengals report in two weeks.

The Bengals game against the Dolphins in Miami this season now has some hype.

"Wait, I was robbed too !!! There were 8 of them !"

Sorry your 6'5" 310 lb OL can't handle a little linebacker, but Porter's the Dolphins' problem now, not the Steelers'.

Any fight between a 300 pounder and someone fifty or more pounds ligher I put m money on the smaller faster guy. A fist fight isn't won by the biggest guy. How about put them together in a hitting drill and see who comes out with the concussion. And half a sack in the last 5 games the Steelers played against the Bengals means Porter had his ### owned by the CIN OL.

In a related story, Carson Palmer's left knee suffered from sympathetic pains early Sunday night as his left tackle was getting beat repeatedly by Joey Porter . . .

How about put them together in a casino and see who comes out with his posterior whooped? Oh wait, that happened. Also, if you ever want to wager on fights, I'll give you the guy who's 60 lbs lighter than his opponent all day long......

I'm sure that very thought was of great comfort to Levi as he asked the 80 year old on the Wheel of Fortune slot machine to move his foot so he could look for his missing teeth.

Sounds to me like Porter rolls with a tougher posse. You think it is above Porter to clock a guy and then have "his boys" jump in and kick the #### out of the guy.

Look at all the Steeler fans celebrating this thug! None of you better make another Bungle thug post after this. Knowing Porter, he probably did rob the guy.

It's an interesting observation to see some Steeler fans defending Porter for attacking a Bengal. I have a question for those that are ok with what Porter did. Do you feel his character is now in question? While he hasn't had the number of issues as some other NFLer's, doesn't his actions put him right in there with guys like Henry and Pacman?

I seem to recall last year many Steeler fans hammering Henry for his character. In fact they were assailing the Bengals and their leadership for allowing Henry to remain on the team. Now that Porter appears to be just like Henry in some ways, some seem to be making light of what Porter did. I'm wondering when the homerism stops and the true fans of the NFL demand better regardless of the team.

PFT sucks and the guy reporting it is obviously a Steeler fan

Flashing the ring, always a Steeler blahblah.. Except his beloved team just showed him the door

FYI, Porter isn't a Steeler anymore. If he were this would be a more serious issue. As it is, a Dolphin player got in trouble with the law and a Bengal player got his ### beat. Tough for me to care very much about either one of those things.

Sounds like you're defending him because he hasn't had as many issues? At what point is this a problem for you? How many laws does he have to break before you recognize there is a problem?

I'm no Bengals fan, but it seems to me Jones did the right thing. I don't care if he can beat up Porter or not, but even if he could have sent him home crying he did the only sensible thing which was to take one for the team.

First, I'll take a guy whose is a solid 260 over a guy 310 all day too. At a certain point its the one who hits first, not hardest.

Second, in this country you have the right to free speech WITHOUT being pummeled in the face for it. I don't care what Levi said to the guy, if Porter is guilty he without a doubt should go directly to jail.

And third, regarding the Steelers and Joey being a criminal while on that team ~ seems even more now that Cower had a good influence on Joey and now with Cower gone, seems Joey had to go too. Who was the Dolphins new coach again - oh yeah, that guy with all that head coaching experience.........hope he brought a leash with him from SD. :headbang:

Who even cares about what is true ?, all that counts is what team everyone supports right ? Everything our guys does can be explained away, but if anyone from someplace else steps even slightly out of line I will point my finger Nelson style in a second.

Maybe this is true ? If so does that make Porter the punk of all punks ?

Per Bengals.com, some jewelry allegedly was stolen from Jones as part of the incident, and that as many as seven people (including Porter) were involved in the attack on Jones.

I am not defending Porter in the least. I think he is a loud mouthed jerk and he did the wrong thing. However putting him with Henry and Pacman is a bit ridiculous. Porter punch a guy bigger than him that was giving him crap -- Henry and Pacman are druggies with weapons. A bit more serious in my book.

PS: Porter isn't a Steeler anymore -- he's Miami's problem.

I appreciate what you're saying but I think you missed the point I was making. I wasn't comparing them, in fact I even said so much. The point was that while others have been crucified for their behavior in the past, we've seen in this thread some of those same people celebrating what Porter did. Many of them are Steeler fans.

I think most of the Steelers fans are just :wall: at the whole incident rather than celebrating it. We're also breathing a sigh of relief that Porter is gone. He was/is a good football player but his antics grew old years ago.

You'd think the people on this board would have figured this out by now.
