Jonathan Orr (1 Viewer)

"Jeff Potrykus, of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, reports Wisconsin WR Jonathan Orr ran a 4.25 40-yard dash at his Pro Day Wednesday, March 8. "

That's a hell of a time- must be a nice fast track at Wisconsin with him and Calhoun having steller 40 times today. He did run a 4.41 at the combine...

Bloom said this guy stood out the most at the Shrine Bowl practices. Should be climbing up the draft charts after today.

The one knock on him is that he is a poor route runner and has trouble getting open. Seems like he could be more of a project- seems like the potential is definitely there. He did play on a run oriented team at Wisc. too- so his potential likely hasn't shown itself.

Scouts may want to measure the track the Badgers use for their Pro Day...These 37 yard dash times are rediculous... :P

Seems like a pretty significant "knock" to me!

He's definitely raw, Wisconsin barely used him in his 2nd and 3rd years - his best year was actually his freshman year, believe it or not. Orr is not a polished technician at WR by any means, but he's a burner in a long solid frame, and has rare athleticism and body control. What I saw at the Shrine practices was a guy that could get to balls that no other WR there could - although sometimes he did not bring the ball down. Maybe I am excited about Orr because there are so few WRs in this draft that have the potential to be a #1, but I think Orr does. The common comparison I hear for upside is his fellow Badger, Chris Chambers.

This sounds like Tony Simmons all over again...

Except Tony Simmons had skillets for hands...Orr has very good hands.

Orr is a compelling developmental guy for sure. Early in the offseason I speculated that he could work his way into 1st round consideration given his speed; but that was overshooting the mark for sure. I would say he'll be a 1st day selection given his measurables and the weakness of the WR class.

I was right there with you, and so was NFL Draft Scout - Since then Chad Jackson and Sinorice Moss have stepped up the way we thought Orr would.

Like Woodrow said, he'll be a day 1 pick and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go in the 2nd with measurables like his. I also agree with Bloom and others who say that Orr is very raw and needs to work on those routes. I would be nervous to take Orr too early because of that. I'd compare him to Quincy Morgan. The measuables are there, but can he learn the routes in order to be an effective every game WR.

IMO, even though Brandon Williams didn't have the measurables and is almost an opposite of Orr, he was the better receiver and will be steal for a team if he falls to day 2. Route running and hands are the two things I look for most in WR's. Size and speed come in a distant 2nd.

I like Williams more for NFL than fantasy - he barely missed the cut of my top 15 WR. He was also very impressive in shrine practices, but had a rough game. Williams was in the slot and getting open, but not seeing any balls because the QBs were never making it to their secondary reads. He was clearly frustrated on the sidelines. I think he's an ideal slot/return guy, but he lacks the top end speed to separate from NFL Cbs, and you have to be a burner at his size if you want to start on Sundays. In practices, I saw him beat the DB at the line (he's not afraid to hand fight to get off press coverage, and is a quick dude), only to have the DB catch up to him when the ball was in the air.
