Jonathan Stewart added to injury report with a foot injury (1 Viewer)

Jonathan Stewart was added to the Packers' Week 4 injury report with a "foot" injury. He had limited participation in Thursday's practice.

There has been no word that the injury is a concern, and if we had to guess we'd say Stewart will be called "probable" on Friday. We'll know more then.

Edited to add: Looks like they made a typo with "Packers" instead of "Panthers".

Damn.....

.....and this from cbs.sportsline

News: Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart was held to limited practice reps Thursday because of a foot injury. He was able to practice in full Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 4 vs. Atlanta.

Analysis: Stewart will try for a third straight game with a touchdown Sunday. Atlanta ranks 23rd in rushing yards allowed and has allowed four rushing scores in their first three games. While Stewart might not be racking up the yards this season and is still splitting carries with DeAngelo Williams, the rookie has shown a nose for the end zone so far. The Panthers haven't said much about the foot injury, so it leads us to believe it's minor. If anything breaks with Stewart, we will let you know, but plan to use him as no worse than a No. 2 Fantasy RB Week 4.

:hifive:

Stewart has bum toe

Jonathan Stewart showed up on the Panthers injury list on Thursday due to a toe injury, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Stewart had surgery in March to help heal a turf toe injury and it looks like it might be flaring up again. :lmao: There is no news on what his status is for Week 4.
Rut roh...This appears to be just speculation at this point...

I did read early this week that Stewart was real slow to get up after a kick return. Speculation was that he had the wind knocked out of him. Maybe they were wrong.

That was no foot injury. The foot injury must have occurred later in the game or in practice or is soreness from the toe that was operated on offseason.

:lmao: I watched that game and saw him slow to get up after the KR, holding his chest/ribs. No issues walking off or showing of any sign of a foot injury at that time.

Per Rotoworld:

Despite being listed as limited in Thursday's practice, Jonathan Stewart is fully expected to play Sunday against the Falcons.Stewart said that someone stepped on his foot last Sunday, but the injury is not serious.
Well, I'm breathing a bit easier now.

I read somewhere that it was his toe flarring up. I'll trade to find the link.

Found it....

Sounds like this is pure speculation by the author, and after reading Trap Play's post it sounds like it has no substance at all.

Yesterday Charles Chandler who writes for the Panthers Notebook in the Charlotte Observor reported:
The only Panther who didn't practice Thursday was quarterback Matt Moore, who's still recovering from a leg fracture. Defensive end Julius Peppers (illness) and Stewart (foot) practiced on a limited basis, but are expected to play. Stewart said someone stepped on his foot, but that the injury isn't serious.

I wonder why he was listed as questionable, then, if it isn't serious. Are the Panthers playing around with the injury report a la Belichick? Arg, this is so annoying

where was he listed as questionable? I believe the "official" NFL injury list doesn't come out until Friday fternoon. Until then they just list practice participation. As an example, MFL has Fargas listed as questionable even though he was out last week and has not participated in practice. I think that's their take on it and not an official designation by the team.

Its a byproduct of the new Injury reporting scheme, which is based on practice participation, where a 'Q' is attached to "limited participation in practice" The actual injury report doesn't come out until Friday evening, I believe.

From the Panthers website:

SPLIT SECONDS: Every Panther except quarterback Matt Moore made it through the full practice, which took place inside Bank of America Stadium as rain and wind pelted Charlotte on Friday morning ... The only players listed as any worse than probable on the injury report are Moore -- who is out as he continues recovering from a fractured fibula -- and wide receiver/kick returner Ryne Robinson (knee), who is questionable after being limited Wednesday and practicing fully Thursday,

I really think this is no cause for concern.

Gotcha, my mistake - CBS Sportsline has him listed as Questionable as well, so I assumed they got it from the official injury report; forgot it doesn't come out until today
