Any news on how much he will be used today.

It seems like everyone thinks he will get very few touches but he is said to be in great shape and 100%.

Can he start out getting about his usual 40% of the touches?

I expect that he'll get a little less than his normal workload for the first week or two. From what I've read, he'll need a bit of time to get totally into prime football condition after not practicing for weeks.

Love this kid as a top 5 NFL RB talent.

First game last season, after missing the preseason and most of training camp..he had 10 carries for 53 yards against SDG. That sounds about right for today...

After much talk about Stewart getting 35% of the touches this year, he had more touches than Williams for most of the game and was relied upon more heavily in the red zone. Williams did get a TD. However, Stewart's demise has been greatly exaggerated. That plummeting sound you hear is Williams' value.

I was definitely surprised by the number of touches Stewart got relative to DW. The guy had limited reps in the pre-season/camp and Williams is healthy/fresh (I think). I figured Williams would at least get the bulk of the touches the first few few weeks while they eased Stewart back. Didn't get a chance to catch the game, but how did Williams look?

I saw his TD run. That looked good. Obviously he wasn't good enough to maintain the greater portion of touches, though.

I could be mistaken about this because I was watching a million things at once, but I think DW was shaken up at one point and had to leave the game for a little while. That might explain the number of carries Stewart got (if I'm correct).

All of the talk about his demise this off season was just plain wrong. The team was resting him, which is what you do for an Achilles. He will be fine and should come close to duplicating last season.

Could it also be that Fox wanted Stewart to get a lot of playing time in a blowout loss to get him some game conditioning after missing the entire pre season and most of camp?

No-UNPOSSIBLE!!!! The reason Stewart got a lot of work is because Fox has had a master plan to rest him all pre-season, so he could replace last year's top RB.

Placing a value on Stewart is very difficult. Most of the FBG brass has him ranked around 15.

I'm not so sure. He fails to deliver consistent production, and injuries are a valid concern.

He's around RB15 in Dynasty, not redraft. His consistency this year isn't anywhere near as big of a concern as his awesome talent. If we were ranking based on talent alone, he'd be in the top 10. Injury concerns and the fact that he has to wait his turn before becoming a true workhorse are the only reason he's ranked as "low" as he is. He comes with all the talent of a DeAngelo Williams, Steven Jackson, or Frank Gore, but a significantly cheaper price tag.

Sell while you can in redraft leagues. Absent a D-Will injury his value will be very low. The Panthers are a train wreck this year and will be playing from behind a lot, rendering D-Will an "average" (at best) fantasy RB#1 and JStewart on parity from a valuation standpoint with guys like Chester Taylor, Maroney, Jamaal Charles.
