Watch some old highlights. I see a lot of similarities in their running style. Great vision/awareness, speed, yards after contact. And I believe a better team when his opportunity comes to be the #1. Jump on this guy.

:goodposting:

I don't see the comparison. Jonathan Stewart is a nice player but there's only one Barry Sanders. Might as well say he's the next Michael Jordan.

I like Stewart alot but I don't see the comparisions.

Stewart is much more powerful than Sanders and Sanders has much more moves in his arsenial.

I don't know where you are coming from on this at all.

I would compare Dwill to Sanders more than Stewart and I wouldn't even call that a GREAT comparison.

Barry Sanders was a giant crab, Stewart is human. (although very good but in a true RBBC)

I think in a few years when Stewart is on the verge of becoming the all time leading rusher the Panthers will hire Bobby Ross as head coach, Stewart will get mad and retire.

You have a strong argument to support your point.

Everyones tearing this thread. Watch close in the videos, Barry and Stewart both break tackles AMAZINGLY, and both have Elite speed.

If you have common sense, and watch the highlights. Youll agree too
Barry Sanders had great balance, incredible moves, great vision, and the ability to stop on a dime and get back to nearly full speed in less than a step. If there was any weakness in his game, it was that he didn't have elite top end speed.

Maybe you should re-watch the highlights. Stewart breaks some tackles, I'll give you that, but not AMAZINGLY. Most of the tackles he "broke" in that video were more the result of poor tackling (hitting high, not wrapping up) than anything Stewart does. Now to your point of "Elite speed."

First-Stewart's video is almost exclusively in slo-mo. How can you use a slo-mo video to declare someone has "Elite speed?"

Second-in this "highlight" video demonstrating Stewart's "Elite" speed, he gets caught from behind at least 4 times.

As to the comparison. Sanders never had elite speed. He had the ability to change directions and get back to full speed very quickly. He didn't so much break tackles as he made tacklers miss. He was great at that (Stewart is not nearly as good).

Stewart may one day be an elite NFL RB, but he's not very similar to Sanders.
