However, Jones also might have a nice run of several mostly injury-free years, ala Fred Taylor. Just because he's had some problems his first couple of years doesn't mean he's cursed forever. He's only 22, and it seems like at least some of the problem is the RB conditioning program in Dallas.I agree about the "Mediocrity" statement, but Choice is playing behind one of the best Olines in football - RB is a position where a serviceable back can look good in a great offense - meanwhile Jones may never be healthy enough to be a RELIABLE weekly FF factor . . .
Ever think it could be Barber that's traded? I know Choice has to be cheap.Barber ownerlive in North TexasJones the high risk natural- but he has never been the lead horseChoice could be traded
I know you're the man when it comes to Dallas info I hear what you're saying but I don't understand why - didnt Dallas just extend Barber last year? And why trade him seeing how fragile the top two are?? I don't get it . . .Jones and Choice is the future plan in Dallas.Barber will eventually be traded.
MBIII 5/20/2008: Signed a seven-year, $45 million contract. I went with Choice for my dynasty league. I think everyone knows my answer is Jones. In dynasty, you always take talent first. Jones is one of the most talented RBs in the league. People here like to dump on him, but his YPC is in the stratosphere, and if he can stay healthy he'll be a dominant player amongst the all time elite.Choice is a nice RB, but he's not special. He's a complete RB, can do everything, but he's the guy that teams would look to replace with a special RB if they had to start him for any length of time. He's extremely intelligent, a player teams would lave to have, but also would love to not have to start. Does that make sense?duaneok66 said:This is a simple hypothetical . . .In a dynasty league, if you had your choice between the two, at this moment in time , taking into account all factors, whom would you rather have???
I said this as soon as they were drafted.Andy Herron said:Jones and Choice is the future plan in Dallas.

Barber was extended before the draft. At the time, Julius Jones had left for free agency. Dallas didn't have a RB under contract. They obviously liked Barber, and didnt want to rely on rookies and FAs at RB. So they extended him. The draft came about, and they landed Felix. It was learned after the fact that he was their primary target. They did not plan on taking Choice. But when his slot in the 4th came up, he was by far the highest rated player on their board. So they grabbed him. And now had 3 good RBs.Black said:MBIII 5/20/2008: Signed a seven-year, $45 million contract. I went with Choice for my dynasty league. The injuries just look to derail Felix.
Switzgood insight, Felix is very talented..I've been a believer in him, but I have to admit, I'm off the Felix Jones love train.. we're always talking glowingly about the guy, and now we're adding 'if' to the statements, as in "he has great talent, can be top 3 RB `if` he can stay healthy.." guys who have a 'yeah,but.....' tag like this, are hard-pressed to overcome it..Felix has now entered Westbrook territory, or McNabb, or Chris Brown, or Todd Heap, etc..once bitten, twice shyI think everyone knows my answer is Jones. he's as brittle as they come..Tossup, Felix is very explosive but brittle. Yeah, no argument on the fragility. But, he is young - just 22 - and has time to grow yet. A lot of great RBS started off their careers oft-injured. An then stayed healthy for years. Felix might as well.Switzgood insight, Felix is very talented..I've been a believer in him, but I have to admit, I'm off the Felix Jones love train.. we're always talking glowingly about the guy, and now we're adding 'if' to the statements, as in "he has great talent, can be top 3 RB `if` he can stay healthy.." guys who have a 'yeah,but.....' tag like this, are hard-pressed to overcome it..Felix has now entered Westbrook territory, or McNabb, or Chris Brown, or Todd Heap, etc..once bitten, twice shyI think everyone knows my answer is Jones. Let's not get crazy here and put things in perspective.....Choice has played extremely well when given the chance and I would probably even say he may be a little bit better than average as far as an all around RB is concerened. But comparing him to E. Smith beyond silly.Jones is easily the choice and what he does for an offense is far and away superior to what Choice can bring to the table. At this stage GM's even knowing there is Jones' brittle ness label would run that risk as he has the ability to be a special player and select him over Choice. You just don't pass guys like Felix up for average players. When Jones touches the ball it feels like something good is about to happen every single time...... I guess that tends to happen when you are as explosive as jones is, have a ypc that is through the roof, and have the ability to take it to the house on any given play. You can always find another Choice, but you can't find very many guys like Felix. In the supply and demand terms there is extremely low supply of Felix type players and he brings extremely high demand.If/when Jones puts the injury thing behind him the sky is the limit for him. Jones is also 22 in comparison to Choice who is 24.Choice...is smooth...he glides...Felix explodes...Choice reminds me of E. Smith...I take him 7 days a week and twice on Sunday...Felix is just too brittle...you can't even trust him to finish a game much less a season...he is fun to watch while he lasts though
Good question. I think they both look like quality NFL players. Choice could probably put up top 15 numbers if he ever found a starting job, but there's some Chester Taylor mediocrity risk with him. He might not be good enough to have long term job security.Jones is more dynamic. It would be hard for any team to keep him off the field because he routinely makes big plays. I think he has a lower floor because he's always going to be a part of the offense regardless of who else is on the team. Then again, he hasn't shown that he can stay healthy. You have to worry about his long term durability. It might not be accurate, but right now he's looking like a guy who can't handle more than 10-15 touches per game.
Watching the Dallas/Carolina game, my first thought of Choice was Chester Taylor 2.0. He's either going to be one of the 5 best backups in the NFL, or he's going to be one of the 12 worst starters in the NFL. More than capable of putting up numbers if given job, but I question whether he's capable of holding a job for more than a year or two if given a job.T-Cho? really...T-Cho gets the job done when he is in there.

Yea. But he is not as "trade-able" Think like a GM. Talent and youth on the cheap are more movable than established stars with fat contracts. Contrary to my other fellow North Texas residents, I see Jerry doing a lot of window dressing with all 3 backs- hoping to get some trade bait. Remember the average NFL RB lasts less than 4.5 years....Hoss_Cartwright said:Ever think it could be Barber that's traded?
