Joseph Addai to be listed as questionable (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
Per Sirius NFL Radio. Also reporting it is Will Carroll, ESPN's "Medicine Man."

Didn't hear much about this yesterday, but as someone who owns Rhodes and is going against Addai in a playoff game this coming week, I say.... GIVE THE KID SOME TIME OFF TO LET HIM HEAL!!! :D

Think in terms of winning the division. Indy has a two game lead on Jacksonville with three to play. If Tennessee beats JAX on Sunday, I would think Dungy would be inclined to hold Addai out seeing that Indy's last two games are home to Miami and @ Houston.

Or that could just be wishful thinking on my part.

added Rhodes yesterday as someone (philly homer) dropped him after Addai's big day against Philly after I lost K Jones.

this is very promising news....!!

:blackdot:

this is problematic for anyone hoping to start him, considering that the game is on Monday night... hopefully his status is clear Sunday

Doesnt really matter.

I man they wanted to SAVE Addai for the play off run or some crap like that.

Now... he is injured.

Colts are Dolts and the worst rush defense in the NFL.

:blackdot:

Love the monday night timing combined with an early game in the week. not.

I hear you. As someone who just squeaked into the playoffs in my main league I really need to know what's going on here early. My only other option is TJones and I really don't want to go with this option as Cedric gets more carries at home than he usually gets on the road....

having lost KJ this week, I am curious to see if the second coming of Rhodes actually occurs. The Monday game gives Addai an extra day to heal and Indy needs to win this game to stop their skid. i have a feeling that the end will result will screw the maximum amount of people possible. That's the way the season seems to be going.

The Indy RB business has been lucrative for me this year (I have both) but the MNF game is a killer here. My lineup would have to be set at 1:00 Sunday and for a playoff game, there's just too much uncertainty gamble on either. I thank Addai for that 4-TD game, but beyond that his timing sucks

Indianapolis lists every injured player as questionable. We have no idea about the severity of the injury until practice later this week.

I can't see Addai being rested for the playoffs this year.

Last year Dungy rested players and made an early exit from the post-season. I can see him wanting to get set playing the right type of football over these next 3 weeks regardless of where they are sitting in the standings.

Throw in the fact that Indy has lost 3 of the last 4 and all of a suddend Dungy has more to worry about then the post season.

Addai is a key part of that offence and will be on the field if he is healthy enough to be there.

This will be the key. I feel pretty optimistic since I didn't see much about this in the blogger. IF it were serious I would think the Indy press would be running with something on this....

When do they have to have the official injury report submitted to the NFL for the week. Is this for last week?

doesn't match what's above.maybe he just didn't get back into the game b/c it was a blowout and he's fine?

I believe the injury lists have to be submitted to the NFL on Wednesdays

[hijack]Stuff like this is why I advocate a "depth chart" system in fantasy leagues. Post a depth chart, and if a guy doesn't happen to play because of injury, your backup is inserted by the commish.Doesn't help with in-game injuries, of course, but it does lessen all of the "will he play?" hand-wringing.[/hijack]

Wednesday. First practice day.

I just reported what I heard. Information is limited until tomorrow. It's a waiting game.
The Indianapolis Colts official website reports WR Brandon Stokley sustained an Achilles injury against the Jaguars Sunday, the extent of which the Colts did not officially announce Monday. ESPN confirmed Stokley is lost for the season with a torn Achilles tendon. But Colts WR Ricky Proehl, signed two weeks ago as a free agent, said he’s preparing as if Stokley will be out indefinitely. Said HC Tony Dungy, “It’s an injury to the Achilles, and I know anytime you talk about that, it’s not good. I don’t know for sure where that is yet.” Also Sunday, S Marlin Jackson and S Antoine Bethea sustained shoulder injuries and did not return, while CB Nick Harper left the game early. Rookie RB Joseph Addai left the game and did not return. “We’ll find out later what their status is,” Dungy said.

Per Rotoworld:

Joseph Addai (ankle) is listed as questionable on the Indianapolis injury report for Monday night.Dominic Rhodes is also listed as questionable due to a wrist injury, so neither running back figures to be overly safe for Week 15. That being said, the Colts usually list scores of players on their injury reports, so Rhodes may be fine. Stay tuned to the duo's presence at practice over the next few days.
Dominic Rhodes is listed as questionable on the Colts injury report with a wrist injury. This sounds like Indianapolis loading up its report for a little gamesmanship, but one can never be too sure. If Joseph Addai cannot play on Monday night, Rhodes should have a nice match-up against the Bengals.

Fortunately, I'm using Rhodes in a flex spot and we can change our lineups up until five minutes before the game. If I get word that he is sitting, I'll sub Chris Henry in there instead. I'd be screwed if I didn't have another Colt or Bengal.

what wasn't mentioned yet, that seems to be of the utmost importance to me, is that Rhodes is questionable with a WRIST injury, while Addai is Q with a FOOT injury.

The answer:

Indianapolis Colts

OUT TE Dallas Clark (Knee); WR Brandon Stokley (Achilles)

QUESTIONABLE S Bob Sanders (Knee); RB Dominic Rhodes (Wrist); WR Aaron

Moorehead (Back); CB Marlin Jackson (Shoulder); CB Nicholas

Harper (Ankle); T Ryan Diem (Groin); CB Antoine Bethea

(Shoulder); RB Joseph Addai (Foot)

Listed players who did not participate in ''team'' practice:

(Defined as missing any portion of 11-on-11 team work)

WED Practice Not Conducted

But did either or both practice?
Ahhh, that is the question......Looks like we won't know till tomorrow at the earliest according to this Article
Clark (knee, out), Stokley (Achilles, out), running back Joseph Addai (foot, questionable), safety Antoine Bethea

(shoulder, questionable), offensive tackle Ryan Diem (groin, questionable), cornerback Nick Harper (ankle, questionable), safety/cornerback Marlin Jackson (shoulder, questionable), wide receiver Aaron Moorehead (back, questionable), running back Dominic Rhodes (wrist, questionable) and safety Bob Sanders (knee, questionable).

Bethea and Jackson each left Sunday’s game against Jacksonville with injuries, and with Sanders and safety Mike Doss (injured reserve, knee) out, Dexter Reid and Matt Giordano finished the game as the Colts’ two safeties.

Harper also left the game with his injury.

The Colts, who did not practice Tuesday or Wednesday, will begin practicing in preparation for the Bengals Thursday at the Colts’ complex

I just watched the Colts/Jags shortcuts on Directv. Had it Tivo'd.

I saw exactly when Addai sprained his ankle. It was late in the 3rd Q, Manning was in the shotgun, and Addai was to his left. Addai saw a blitzing corner coming from Manning's right, so he slid over after the snap and to his credit, he stoned the guy. But his right ankle was in very awkward position upon contact, and it got badly twisted. It could have been MUCH worse by the looks of things.

Per rotoworld:

Joseph Addai-RB- Colts Dec. 14 - 6:04 pm et

Joseph Addai (questionable, foot) practiced without limits on Thursday.

Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reported Wednesday that Addai was likely to play against the Bengals on Monday Night Football and it looks like he's right again. Addai is a top-notch RB2 in a favorable matchup.
