Josh Cribbs (1 Viewer)

I have Cribbs rostered in a league that gets points for return yards....obviously he already has significant value there.

Cribbs had 6 carries out of the wildcat last week for 45 yards. He's explosive with the ball in his hands and the Browns don't have much else there. If he gets 6-10 touches a game that would give him value in deeper leagues I would imagine.

Any Cleveland homers with thoughts on his role in the offense going forward?

My main money league also allows points for return yardage so I've been closely monitoring both Cribbs and Jacoby Jones, waiting to pounce. I think they're both worth rostering in leagues with bigger rosters, but the conundrum these KR/PR/WR specialists present is deciding when to start them. /misterobvious.jpg

Yeah, I'm a Texans fan so I'm pretty well aware of that. Andre Davis has been on KR duty for the last couple of seasons.

Doesn't the fact that Cribbs is now playing a fair amount at QB in the wildcat, when coupled with the fact that he has become the #2 WR after Braylon's trade, make him a more start-able WR even in non-return leagues than most seem to realize? Our league starts 4 WR and counts PR/WR TD's even though it does not factor in return yardage, so I took a shot at him in this week's waiver draft.

Will Cle be continuing to build up the wildcat or is it just an occasional gimmick moving forward? First game that Braylon wasn't involved in for Cle saw Cribbs get 13 wildcat snaps, running or throwing on 8 of them, as well as take the majority of the snaps at WR2 (targeted only once). The Browns' schedule is a little softer moving forward also. Any Browns' homers have thoughts?

Cribbs is quite possibly the best athlete on the entire team and it appears they're trying to get him as involved as possible.

I just picked up Cribbs off waivers. Thanks to those gimps Megatron and Boldin, Cribbs is actually now my highest scoring WR. (1 pt for 25 yds return yardage league).

I'm actually pretty excited about getting him. He could be gold in this format if the Browns keep finding ways to get him involved and he can get about 50-75 combined rushing and receiving yards per game. You know he'll have plenty of opportunities for return yardage with the Browns' horsesh_t D.

cribbs should be rostered in return yardage leagues, no doubt.

currently he's 19th WR in my league that gives 1 pt per 20 return yards.

as for when to play him, it's tough to predict (like all receivers) but obviously the higher scoring the opponent is, the better cribbs chances.

Cribbs is top ten in my league and has only given one poor week. Aside from that he's actually been an incredible option each week.

Until weeks 15/16 he plays against teams with good offenses. So he should be getting lots of returns and they seem to be using him more in the offense.

Be warned that in weeks 15/16 he plays the Chiefs and Raiders. I don't know how many returns will be taking place in those games.

i think last week was a significant point in Cribbs' season. They actually got him involved fairly significantly in the offense. Probably because they can't really move it other ways either, but the reason behind it is not significant. What is significant is he might be getting more touches beyond returns moving forward. And they offense being so aenemic, even if he does average with those touches, they will continue to keep him involved, just because he can hit a HR at any moment. I think Cribbs is gonna have solid value moving forward, possibly #2 wr value, and in return leagues, I think he already is a solid middle of the road #2, so can only go higher...

The Browns have been using the wildcat with Cribbs at QB all year. Last week it seemed to work better than others, and last week was the first week that I can recall him throwing a pass from that formation. He was a QB in college, so he can apparently throw the ball and does well with the ball in space.

He's been mostly invisible as WR, and now Robiskie is getting some looks as well as Stuckey - so I don't know if that's gonna change much.

Having said that, I'm starting both Cribbs and Massaquoi this week due to some severe BYE week issues, and I'm hoping for a kick return TD and some rushing yards. :crossesfingers:

He's the number 1 receiver in my league that rewards return yardage. Anyone heard anything on this "minor" knee injury that's keeping him from practicing this week?

he was limited again today and is listed as questionable for Sunday.I may sit him for Caldwell or Massaquoi

the next rb for cle? sounds intriguing. need to do something to spark that offense

The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that the Browns are considering using wide receiver Josh Cribbs as a running back. Cribbs is electrifying when the ball is in his hands, so the Browns want to get it to him as much as possible

Joshua Cribbs-WR- Browns Oct. 31 - 10:28 am et

Browns' OC Brian Daboll said he "wouldn't rule out seeing" Joshua Cribbs in the game at running back on Sunday.

Cribbs has been the team's Wildcat quarterback and has shown some spark out of the formation, running for 45 yards on six carries in Week 6 against Pittsburgh. So, the Browns will now try him out as a traditional running back. Anything is better than what they have now. Jamal Lewis is 30th in the NFL in rushing with 280 yards
