anyone know much about him?

all i know is he has a nice fastball :deadhorse:

i'm also concerned with his effect on antonio bryant. i want to dump royal and grab bryant.

Before the Bucs took Josh Freeman, I thought the kid had a future, not so sure at this point, but he will get his shot(albeit way too early for a prospect from a small school). It's a simple roll of the dice...99% of the time kids like Johnson are going to fail, but it's not set in stone.

EDIT: Thanks for the links. Is Johnson really 6'3"? He looks small in the video... The DraftGuys seem to think he is an elite athlete at the QB position due to his speed/agility. Time will tell!

If he can make the throws and keep the play alive, he will throw deep to Antonio. I am hanging on to Antonio and hope for some good games in a few weeks after Josh gets some games under his belt.I dropped Royal.

Great profile from the Shrine Game Cecil and Sigmund.

One side note (which limits my own interest)....he shares the same bye week as Brady, Roethlisberger, Palmer, Campbell and Cassel in Week 8. But all indications are that he will be given a chance to succeed with Freeman not yet ready.

He's a fairly good sleeper for 2 QB leagues. If he can average 150 yards passing and 20 yards rushing a game then he can be a useful plug-in during bye weeks. Bonus rushing TD's might give you some decent upside.

Saw the video of the Bucs/GMen game.

Gotta say that Josh Johnson really surprised and impressed me. Granted, it was the NFL equivalent of garbage time but the guy looks like he has some real talent. He didn't look completely comfortable in the pocket but that's the kind of thing that might go away in a game or two. If he has pocket presence to match his physical skills, he looks like a real interesting QB prospect.

If I had a hole on my roster in a deep league I would take a shot on rostering Johnson.
