Josh Wilson (1 Viewer)

Team ROFLCOPTERS

I see Seattle has another return option this year and since Wilson has developed into such a good corner do you see Seattle having him focus his efforts on playing CB? Nobody can deny his value if he is returning kicks and you are playing in a return yardage league.

Perhaps we need to resurrect the return man thread.

I think the kick returners will be Josh Wilson and one of Butler, Devin Moore or Forsett.

If Forsett or Moore do not get the job on special teams, they will be cut from the team.

With Ken Lucas back on the team, I think it gives the Seahawks the depth to use Josh Wilson at KR. The downside to that of course is that Wilson may not see the field as often as last year in the CB role.

I was thinking the same thing. Why hadn't anyone drafted him yet. As far as I know he is still going to be returning kicks but not punts and probaly won't be starting as a cb. Tough call. If you don't draft him i bet I know who you will draft. I hope I get one of the two.

:X Wilson will probably have plenty of time to hone his return skills, he's at best gonna be the nickel CB

I wasn't sure if you'd remember my username. Oh well, at least I pick before you. Oh, and yeah, I'm pretty sure you know the two guys I'm contemplating but I'm leaning towards Wilson. The guy was simply unbelievable for me last year.

Wasn't he hurt half the time too? I'm going to be grabbing him and Leodis McKelvin.
Wilson ended with 4 ints, 1 int ret for TD and a bunch of return TD's. I actually had McKelvin, Wilson and Blackmon at one period of time last year.

why is there interest in Wilson? he's a scrub that was in a good(fanstasy) situation last year. hawks brought in ken lucas to get wilson off the field. wilson/jennings will be vying for nickel duty. unless there is a injury/s infront of him he won't accumulate 1/2 of his defensive stats.

he doesn't even make footballguys DB ranks(which ranks over 80DB's)

depends on scoring

in a league that awards point:20 return yards, Wilson will still put up no less than "60 solo tackles" based on return yards alone. Any TDs or time spent in the nickel is just icing on the cake, and it's not really matchup-dependent in most cases

Yep.Even as a nickel back in return yardage leagues he's golden.In non-return yardage leagues he's a CB3/4 if that.

If you ever play in a league that gives points for return yardage, he's pretty much the man. Guys like him, and Terrence McGee in his prime (while returning kicks) were monsters that basically challenge for the IDP scoring crown each year. Leodis McKelvin and Jim Leonhard (to a lesser extent) also apply.

Take a second to read the thread and maybe you'll notice a trend.

Josh Wilson had 1753 kick return yards last year. That was good for #1 in the NFL last year. In IDP leagues that award points for return yards, there are not very many IDPs who actually get return yards (McKelvin, Demps, Hobbs, Blackmon, etc.), so it makes a player like Josh Wilson very valuable. Our league awards 1 point for every 40 kick return yards, and Josh Wilson ended up with 165 fantasy points in my league. 43 of those points were directly from his kick return yards. That is like an extra 43 tackles.

he was leading scorer in my league as well, so i know his statline. but i also know he was a bad player in a great great situation last year. horrid CB playing opposite talented CB get picked on alot. the hawks O without hasselback and a decent WR was horrid. the hawks defense with wilson and many of its key players hurt led to the hawks getting scored on at will and leading to a inordinate number of KO returns

he won't accumulate 1/2 the defensive stats

seahawks won't be as horrid this year. the hawk O(Time of possession help defense) and D will be better meaning there will be many fewer kickoff returns.

adding devin moore/deon butler to wilson/forsett means there will be more of a split in return attempts. he may be lucky to get 1/2 of his total fantasy stats last year. which still makes him draftable but not with the hysteria posted in this thread.

I only see one guy getting hysterical.

ZING!!!

with the scoring on my signature, Josh wilson scored 365 fpts. Only 2 pts behind the overall leader Drew Brees. To put that in perspective, he beat out Andre Johnson on a PPR league by 53 points. Undeniably he lead me to win the championship and everyone in the league pretty much regarded him as the MVP.
