I don't think he's rosterable in most cases. He's a nice fit for the team but he's not going to supplant Welker or Moss any time soon. The only way I can see stashing him is in a deep standard league, and only as the backup to Welker - but I don't even know for sure how much he'd play if Welker missed substantial time. There's very limited keepability here, for keeper/dynasty type leagues - think about the series of events that would have to happen for you to be glad you had used a roster spot on him in all but the deepest of dynasty leagues. Do you see them happening in the next year or two? Do you see yourself falling in love with another scrub receiver between now and then?Pats homers,Tell us more about Edelman. Dynasty players should surely pay attention, but is he rosterable in PPR? Deeper standard leagues?
Apparently not!Greg Lewis > Edelman....
I really don't see Welker missing Week 1 and his situation is getting way blown out of proportion. Welker was in uniform and seen fielding punts last week prior to the Giants game. Lewis getting cut to me is another sign that there is nothing majorly wrong with Welker.Do you guys think Edelman is worth starting as a WR3 in Week 1 should Welker miss the game? I am warming to this idea.
I believe Edelman will start the year as a punt returner with Maroney on kickoff returns.corpcow said:Is Edelman returning kicks"? I'm in a deeper league with KR and was eyeing him there...

This is good info. I was getting nervous about having him plugged in for week 1 and was thinking of putting another WR in. Inactive for tonight's game.I have a feeling we're going see Edelman utilized tonight in addition to specual team work
nevermind looks like he is still injured & isn't dressed

Edelman might be the quickest player in the NFL. His 3.92 short shuttle (at his Pro day) is alien-like. What hooked me, though, was his first preseason game. I nearly fell off my chair at his resemblance to Welker (playing style). I was also amazed at how a kid could make that good of a transition to WR so fast.I knew of Edelman in college & was planning to keep my eye on him, but the preseason game sold me. I started adding him in my dynasty leagues after that & added him in the rest of my dynasty leagues this morning when I heard Welker was inactive. He looks good today, but he's not even 100% healthy. Not sure what New England is going to do in the future at WR, but I believe Edelman will eventually be a star (if not with the Pats, someone else).Looking awfully Welker like today.
and Brady missed him at the GL with a pass that would've been a TD...i didn't start Edelman in any of my leagues because i wasn't sure how healthy he was (& he's still not 100%), but i may regret that decision, lolat the half he's 4-60
Edelman was wide open for the TD. He had it, Brady just botched the toss.and Brady missed him at the GL with a pass that would've been a TD...i didn't start Edelman in any of my leagues because i wasn't sure how healthy he was (& he's still not 100%), but i may regret that decision, lolat the half he's 4-60
Not sure about that but am sure Edelman was in grammar school the last time somebody said that with a straight face.Julain Edelman, Is he all that and a bag of chips?
