Julius Jones Offered to the Jets (1 Viewer)

I have heard on Sirius radio and read it in Pastanelli's column on ESPN that the Cowboys were set to trade Julius Jones to the Jets so they could draft a RB.

Anyone know which round this was?

What the deal was that was offered?

Who the Cowboys were interested in?

Hearing this makes me wonder about his status going into next season. I know that BP is really high on MB3 but I have also heard he doesn't think MB3 is an ever down back.....

If this is true I think it speaks well of the Jets confidence in Cedric Houston moving forward. And they just added 2 very good offensive linemen.

Maybe Parcells doesen't think JJ is a every down back either.

Or Leon Washington.

maybe the offered was taken off the board by Dallas once White went to Tennesse. That was the heavy rumors that BP had man love for LenDale.Jets were only 4 picks away, and Dallas was 8 picks away. Maybe the Jones deal was for the Jets pick, #17 in the 2nd round and White went #13 in that round. I don't know, just a hunch.

speaking of which it would be great to hear all the war room deals that didn't get made but were offered. Of course, that would lead to a lot of :wall: around here.

I was thinking more before the Jets traded down with Washington. Dallas could have moved up to the 2.03 and taken him. Wish the Jets would have grabbed him.

Don't forget that the Jets got a pretty sweet deal from Washington (two seconds and a sixth) so that may have been a better offer than Dallas's.

I don't see Leon as anything more than a 3rd down/change of pace back. He's nothing spectacular...but neither is Cedrick. As a 'Nole fan I'd like to see him succeed but he didn't exactly tear it up and he's not exactly a pillar of health.

Really? So they could have the two U of Minnesota backs fighting against each other for field time again?

Both of those guys went for 1,000 on the same team not to mention they complimented each other perfectly. I have confirmed through some sources in Dallas that this trade was in fact for Maroney, the reason the trade didn't go through was because Dallas was trying to give JJ and a pick for the Jets second first rounder.....
