Jungle Book remake (1 Viewer)

St. Louis Bob

I have to admit I have a soft spot in my heart for the original. I'll nevet forget watching it in the park across the street from my house when I was 6.

This cast and graphics are phenomenal, I can't wait to bring my boys.

That looks amazing. Loving the recent trend of bringing the classic flicks to live action. They've all been at the worst decent, but some have been really good.

I know Beauty and the Beast is coming out too starring the Harry Potter chick, and also heard they're doing Dumbo.

There's a Peter Pan live action prequel coming out soon too. Kind of like Maleficent where it's a known character but they get into the back story.

I hear Drake & Kendrick Lamar are remaking the Bare Necessities song.

Animated original is one of my favorites so I was prepared to pass on this. But that looks cool. IN.

I had no idea going in who was voicing any of the parts.  It was really cool discovering that with the introduction of each new character. If you plan to see the film and don't know who the voice actors are, try to avoid learning beforehand if you can.

Jon Favreau has turned from a regular guy, like able actor into one of the best directors in Hollywood.  Can't wait to see this flic.

This is currently playing at the local Drive In. I may take the grandkids next weekend. It's a double feature being paired up with Zootopia.

Thought it was really well-done.  I have great fondness for the animated version, so a live-action remake was a tough sell to me.  Had a great time.

Normally I avoid 3D movies because I balk at the premium price and the glasses sometimes give headache, but I thought the 3D added a lot to the visual experience.

Couple scenes might be really scary to little kids.

I knew most of the voice cast going in and was skeptical about a few of the voice choices, but after seeing it there was only one I found so distracting it took away from the movie.

I wan to honor your suggestion to wait until seeing the movie to learn the voices, so I'll put a couple thoughts in a Spoiler tag for folks who want the in-movie reveal.

Normally I'm a fan, but I didn't care for Walken as King Louie.  Thought it reduced the character from legitimate threat to meaningless goof.  And I really like Louie's song as performed by Prima in the animated version, so I spent a lot of the temple lamenting the moment when Walken started singing.

I'm open to the possibility csdting Walken and making Louie an empty threat was the point of the casting.  I'm sure I'll see it again down the road.

LOVED Bill Murray as Baloo!  I was skeptical, but he brought out the "I'm clever, just lazy" side of Baloo that makes that character's journey even more interesting.

And yes, if a snake appeared speaking in Scarlett Johannson's voice, I'm 98% sure I would obey its every word.

My kids wanted to see it, so I took them.  I'd never seen the original although I was somewhat familiar with the characters (I think the Baloo and Shere Khan were in TaleSpin).

This movie was OUTSTANDING.  Those animals (outside the big monkey) looked so real it was ridiculous.  Good pacing of the story and the kid did a great job as well.  Highly recommend.
