Junior Seau- Career Ending Injury? (1 Viewer)

With a broken arm, you have to figure he is going to be out for a while. Probably 8 weeks at best.

Considering he already retired once, you have to have doubts about him healing and returning next year. So does this mean that Seau's career is officially over?

Tough loss for the Pats as a player and as a leader. I wish and hope nothing but the best for him but I do think that this just might be it for Seau.

Perhaps a best case scenario he comes back late in playoffs - where he will be welcomed with open arms and much needed but I am not all that optimistic about that either.

maybe the Supe or AFCC if they make it

Ya never know. Some NFL players have played with casts on

Have to wait and see the severity but it looked like it snapped the ulna clean/ His hand was hanging like putty where it should've been rigid. Pretty gruesome.

Pats will list him as questionable with an upper body injury.

I hope for his sake he gets to play again. It looked pretty rough, though.

I think he'll be back this season.

Splint it up, likely no ligament damage, clean break...

give him a month

I guess it depends on the severity of the injury.

Despite winning the game today, Mike Vabrel had a pretty long face - so it must be serious.

This is the very definition of "tough break" for a great player. But since he's very tough, I can see him playing later with a splint/cast. Hard to say if he'd come back for another season. I think if this season starts to get better for the team, then it makes next season more enticing to be a part of. But I know nothing about his contract status, which should be a factor too.

Pretty sure it's either a one year deal, or a three year deal that's set up to be a one year deal.Either way, if he wants to come back, the Pats will figure out a way... I doubt it will be a factor at all.The Patriots need quality linebackers, of which he is, and Seau needs rings, of which the Patriots get plenty.

I just got back from the game. I don't know what they showed on TV, but it was very clear something was VERY wrong. Not only did all the Pats players come over and pat him on the back, there were players from the bears coming over and saying "goodbye" to him.

If this is it for Junior he had a heck of a career. Im a die hard steeler fan and i still remember him as the driving force in shutting down Barry Foster and our running game back in 1994 in the AFC title game.

Among non-Colts he probably tops my list of guys I'd like to see with a ring. If NE does get that far, hope he's back in time. And hope he can come back next year (despite hating playing against him). That's not the way to end his career.

when he left san diego i disliked him, when he pulled the retirement stunt i hated him..

he got what he deserved..

good riddance...

The local CBS station is interviewing Sameul now. At the start of the interview they mention the injury and say (and I quote) "we are not going to show the injury, that just wouldn't be appropriate" as they then went on to talk about how many downs Seau plays and how it will affect the D.

Right then they cut to the replay of the injury. ####### local news

It's just a little flesh wound. Nothing to worry about. I can't believe he had to come out.

Five games off, plus a bye, that's 7 weeks. It did look pretty bad, and he's a LB. he needs his hands and forearm strength. If he plays, it'll be sparingly, and AFC Championship and later.

:fishing:He never left SD. They let him go.
good ridance a guy gets injured? Pretty lame.I've never been a fan of his, the whole graduation day thing was really sad.But I like watching good football players play, and never have been glad to see one get hurt, even when playing against them in FF.You need to grow up a bit.
