Pretty sure they would never miss a game because of it. They could just explain to the court that they have an NFL game and likely be dismissed without incident.

Question though how many players have residence where they live during the season? Don't you need residence to be called for jury duty in that town/county?

Any time I've received a jury duty summons, I've simply ignored it, as if it didn't exist.
