Just drafted - Trade RB for WR? (1 Viewer)

12 team redraft 0.5 PPR. Start QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, TE, R/W/T flex, K, DST.

Just drafted, and underestimated how heavy the league was going to go after WRs. My starters are good, but there's no depth. On the other hand, I was able to get lots of RBs that I liked. This is the team (starters in bold).

QB: Lamar Jackson
WR.: Lamb, Olave, Hopkins, Hollywood
RB: Achane, Jacobs, Javonte Williams, Singletary, Ford, Corum, Dowdle
TE: McBride
K: Aubrey
DST: Chiefs (for now ... probably going to matchup stream like I usually do)

I hate to be thinking of trading without any games played. Though there are several teams who look to be in the opposite shape of me (deep WRs, shallow RBs).

One guy is a massive Packer homer ... frankly I'm shocked he didn't pick Jacobs. I think there's good chance he'd go for a Jacobs/Aiyuk trade. Another team already has Chubb, and I think a depth for depth trade of Ford for Dionte could look good.

Either of those look good? Or maybe it's best to keep the RB depth, how Lamb and Olave stay healthy, and keep a close eye on the WW for WRs as the season goes on?

I personally see nothing wrong with trading Jacobs for Aiyuk. If you think he’d do it, go for it, it does improve your overall team right now.
But like Rubi said the season just started, no need to make trades yet. Jacobs could be the old Jacob’s and then you’ll be kicking yourself all season.

I am not sure if Jacobs for Aiyuk really helps your team. To me it takes WR from your weak spot to making RB your weak spot. At this point I wouldn't want to have to rely on Javonte Williams.

I would be more apt to do Ford for Johnson but in the end I think you will be fine with Hollywood as depth once he gets healthy.

I would float the Ford for Johnson offer but generally I stay put

Agree with Gally. If you deal Jacobs for Aiyuk, you get a stronger FLEX but a weaker 2nd RB. Not sure that helps you. Now you have strong RB starters and strong WR starters.....FLEX will work itself out. Johnson might be better in that role than what you have.....but between Hollywood, Ford, Corum and Williams, I bet someone will step into that role and be very solid for you.

I'm not big on Jacobs or Olave this year and I think a Jacobs for Aiyuk trade would be helpful but I agree with Gally that said trade would just trade one weakness for another. I'd still do it though. I'm a Williams truther and maybe we'll finally get that breakout this year. Between, Williams, Ford and Singltary, I think you'll be ok at RB. Go get Aiyuk.
