I just managed to drop my $1400 Surface Pro 4 about 3 feet onto my tile kitchen floor. It landed on the corner and bent the steel housing a little along with cracking the screen on the corner. There are also some small hairline cracks on the entire screen that are only visible if you look at the screen from an angle. It seems to work fine and I taped over the really badly damaged area in the corner. It's still very usable with the exception of the very small taped area in the corner which isn't visible so I could conceivably keep using it if it doesn't die?
I bought it just before Christmas and no I didn't get a damage/extended warranty. How bad am I screwed, would you fix it or just deal with the crack for now? Also assuming I get it fixed is it worth getting an extended warranty or is the window for purchasing one already gone. This is my first tablet and I have no clue about my options and what I should do at this point.
